  • How to change only sections of a graph's background color

Hi All,   I am interested in scripting a solution that allows me to change sections of a graph's background color. I know how to manually do this with editing the axes of a graph, but this changes everything vertically (or horizontally) over that range. I want to change sections that are bounded in both X and Y. For example, I want to take the following graph and change it from this:To something l...

Vielen D...

  • using categorical data with random forests in JMP

We are having a little trouble wrapping our heads around how JMP treats categorical data in random forests. We have created a small pilot data set and mapped the categorical data using a variety of techniques including many suggested in this forum. However, I don't really understand why we should see so much of a difference in performance when using these mappings. If I am mapping a discrete set o...

I have a dataset in which training and validation data points are already defined. First N rows are training data and remaining are validation data. Data set in Excel file. Now, how to use already created validation column (in Excel) while performing some analysis in JMP (e.g. neural nets).

  • Changing the filter in a for loop

Hi,Using a For Loop, I am trying to do some analysis in JMP and each time a series of rows are filtered for this analysis. My code is similar to the snippet below. The problem is that the filter does not change in each iteration and the filter is implemented only the first time. I tried to figure out a solution by reading the JMP Help PDF, but none of them helped.dt = Open(path to the file); For(...

  • Control charts with irregular time on x-axis

I am watching the STIPS course on quality methods as I want to start making control charts, and I noticed that they said the x-axis should be regular time intervals. I want to use control charts to monitor the controls in a test method, but we do not run this method on regular time intervals. Instead, we run the test whenever sample is available. And it would be costly/impractical to run the test ...

  • Regarding Repeat Experiments in DoE

Hello All,I have what I am hoping will be a simple problem for the group. I recently set up a DoE with three factors, each having discrete numerical values at 3 levels.  I specified cross interactions with 2nd order effects with the 18 runs to be executed in 3 blocks.  I did NOT specify any repeats to be designed, however, I notice in the design matrix that 4 of the runs are duplicated.  In other ...

  • Can limits for Equivalence TOST use ratios instead of differences between the test and reference groups?

Minitab allows the lower and upper equivalence limits for TOST to be set as differences (either balanced or unbalanced, e.g. -123 and +345) or as ratios (either balanced or unbalanced, e.g. 0.8 and 1.2 if you wanted an equivalence margin of +/- 20%).I don't see this option for JMP and wondered if it was available and how to access it. Thanks.

  • DoE where choice of factor changes with the levels of another factor

Hello - This was briefly answered in another question, but it was suggested that I put it as another question. I am also using two different heat treatments (microwave and thermal), which normally would be fine as a categorical variable, but there is also a switch of a second factor associated with the different levels of the "heat treatment type" factor: Microwave makes more sense to control the ...

  • Model classification thresholds add-in display "negative" probability

Hi, I've been looking at this add-in which is very useful.https://community.jmp.com/t5/JMP-Add-Ins/Exploring-Model-Classification-Thresholds/ta-p/66964 In our case we don't have a probability but instead we have a status and a measurement that ranges between -10 and 10.I want to adapt the script so that the slider can move between -10 and 10 (I've already done it and it works). However the "Probab...

Confirm that my sample would be what I pick for 'Block" when I do Fit Y by X when running Friedman's test2. Is there a post hoc analysis in JMP that I can use? I dont see Nemenyi or Conover as an optionThanks for your time.

  • JMP script: Script Alarm Control chart- Table with atypical batch number and values

Hello everyone,I am trying to make a table with the OOT (out of Trend) batches with their respective "atypical" values.I used for that the "script alarm" function as I could found some exemples on the JMP community. Here is my script:  z_KSigmaZ =1.4; // Création de la Carte de controle si N catégories > 5 Names Default To Here( 1 ); If(N Items(Associative Array(:"RNS/NS tordu (srg)")) > 5, Gr...
