  • Understanding Statistical Details for Variance Components

I am working to understand the statistical details for Variance Components platform: https://www.jmp.com/support/help/en/15.2/#page/jmp/statistical-details-for-variance-components.shtml# For this example, each part is processed within an X_1 group, then within an X_2 group, and then tested within an X_3 group.  I think the crossed effects model is most applicable.  Is this correct? More generally,...

  • Volcano Plot parameters in JMP Pro

We don't have JMP Clinical or Genomic so we're using JMP Pro to create a volcano plot according to this article: How to Build a Volcano Plot in JMP!    Most volcano plot differences refer to the x-axis as fold change or log2(fold change). The terminology in the article uses Difference. It also indicated to use Difference only as opposed to Relative Practical Difference.   In the wiki article on fo...

  • Equivalence between two manufacturing lines

Hi all, I am attempting to display a TOST or equivalence between two distributions of the same output, but on different manufacturing lines. I understand you can get to this by the Fit Y by X, but a little confused as there is no Response/Factor situation, but rather a distribution of output Y1 on the donor process, and a distribution of output Y2 on the recipient process. Is there a simple way to...

  • column names won't display

Hi, I've just upgraded to JMP 15 and have noticed that column names won't display unless they are selected (see screenshot). This also occurs if I use graphbuilder and if I drag columns to different axes they do not show up as well. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

  • How do I run chi-square post-hoc analysis?

Hello, I am trying to run post-hoc analyses following a chi-square test. I have a binomial dependent variable (yes/no) and a categorical independent variable with 3 levels (A, B, C). When I use this same categorical independent variable to run post-hoc analyses against continuous dependent variables, I have used Dunnett's post-hoc with A as the referent. I am trying to run post-hoc following a chi...

  • How to refresh/update (main/jmp) menu on jmp startup?

Hello everyone,   currently I'm working on an update function for my addins. I used the following guide as guidance: How to write self-updating JMP add-ins    Everything works perfectly - but currently I'm struggeling with the next step.
I was wondering if it's possible to dynamicly "toggle" the update button depending if a update is available or not.   I tried using the script start-up function fo...

  • Comparing observed/predicted from different models. (Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) or Mean Absolute Error (MAE))?

I'm using the neural platform to calculate a model that makes predictions from some observed data and want to compare the performance of that model to other models (not from JMP). To compare the different models, I want to compare the observed data and the predictions from the different models. The R2 is not a good measure because it checks for any linear relationship between the observed and predi...

  • Problem specifying model for a partly nested ANOVA design

My study design is mixed-model with one fixed between-plot fixed factor (A), a random plot factor (B), nested in A (B[A]), and two crossed within-plot fixed factors (C and D).  I'm able to enter a full factorial model that includes the 3 fixed factors and all their interactions, using either the Least Squares or Mixed-Model Personality.  I'm also able to add the random factor (B[A]), but things go...
