  • Understand Odd numbers in custom designed RSM+setting continuuos factors to zero

Dear JMP-Experts,I have two questions:Question 1) I created two RSM-Designs using the custom Designer
-The first design has 3 Factors, of which two factors (Factor1 and 2) are continuous with three factor settings  and the third factor is discrete numerical with four factor settings (two include 0 as additional setting)-->See below.
-The second design, is similar to plan 1 but with four factors; thr...

  • Disappearance of confidence intervals on profiler

Good afternoon (from East Coast) JMP staffs and users! I have three questions on using JMP software. 1. I built a customized response surface model with triplicates in the central point. When I open the 'Profiler' from 'Fit model', it shows confidence intervals as shown below. However, when I open this fitted model through 'Profiler' under 'Graph' tab, it does not show confidence intervals. I also ...

  • Coding and intercept in mixture DoE models

Hello Community, I have a question concerning the models found for Mixture DoE when the default L PseudoComponent Coding is activated (default conditions). When this is activated, my main effects have strange forms like in the picture below:  I prefer when they have a cleaner view, just Oil, water and vinegar (not in the form of ratio). Apart from the visual aesthetics preferences, there is someth...

  • Considering standard deviations in to DOE

I made a DOE with custom design of 6 runs. The 2 factors are continous and response Y is in %. When i have the results for Y. the standard deviations is quite huge. So, if i just input the mean value, I believe that it will not do justice to the design predictions. So what can i do to add these standard deviations to be considered by the model to get a better predictions.

  • How to treat replicates and failed runs in a definitive screening design

Hi community, I am having trouble modeling some data that I got from a DSD. This was a screen of 10 factors. We ran this with 3 blocks (operators) and I included the maximum number of extra runs (8). This gave me a table of 31 runs. We did some initial range-finding experiments to set reasonable bounds for all of the factors. Unfortunately we still got 4 runs where the reaction completely failed, ...

  • Do 3rd order effects help define curvature?

If you have are making a design with a factor you are certain will have a quadratic relationship against a response but you have a wide range, can it be helpful to define a 3rd order model effect for that factor to better identify and model curvature. I work in purification and we often deal with a recovery vs. purity balance. This relationship is usually quadratic around the optimal, where at a l...

  • Neural networks that learn and predict in real time (incremental learning)

Hello community!!A query:- How JMP is configured to generate neural networks that learn from their inputs in real time (incremental learning) in such a way that it continually updates its weights according to new inputs and generates updated real-time predictions.Greetings,Marco

  • Which predictive analysis method/column organisation for RSM output with duplicate samples

Hi all. So I'm working on a project where I have 2 x component classes, each of which has 4 items within the class, which are mixed together at varying concentrations over 48 combinations. Figured the best Factor way to do this was to use 2 x Continuous for the max/min concentrations for each class, then 2 x 4-level Categoricals for each of the items. Each of the combinations was made twice, so af...

  • Could JMP optimize factors with uncertainty?

  • Caution: Places where Jmp does something unexpected

Definitely, JMP is Not a Spreadsheet . And that's great!! Besides this difference, there are other places where Jmp doesn't do/behave/produce what a newbie / innocent Jmp user expects.
If a user knows these issues and the remedies and workarounds -  he/she can
    a) save a lot of time b) be safe from data loss c) be sure that the results are as expected.
