  • How to choose heredity rules in definitive screen

Hi, When performing a DSD, you are given the option for applying rules of "obeys strong heredity" for quadratics, and for interactions. I believe that this limits the model and allows only for interactions that contains both as main effects. I'm not positive how this works for quadratics unless it only allows for quadratics that are found to have a main effect as well. When evaluating your DSD, ho...

  • Can I add error values to a response variable in Custom DOE?

Hi there, I'm working with Custom DOE, and I've collected data for my response variable that I want to input to generate a model. I've also collected data on the error associated with the measurement of that response variable (for each data point) and I was wondering if there is a way to take this error into account. I haven't been able to find any details on this so I figured I'd ask here -- I'm ...

  • One DOE for two contradictory research questions?

Hello,I want to study a chemical reaction, which occurs in the frame of a measurement as a side reaction. I want to know, 1)  which factors and which values give an optimal result and 2) which values give a minimal result. It seems that I have two possibilities:Two DoE Plans for each questionOne DoE Plan for both. However, to get both results, all kinds of parameters need to be studied thoroughly an...

  • Data analysis on mixture design

Hello everyone,I've tried to create a sort of mixture design using a script. The script allows me to have 10 components (a1, a2 - b1, b2, b3, b4 - c1, c2 - d1, d2) and my mixture would consist of only:a1 or a2 or 0b1 or b2 or b3 or b4 or 0c1 and/or c2d1 or d2 or 0By selecting the steps, the script provided me with an experimental design table (which I enriched with new experiments and pure componen...

  • How to re-create a DoE for bioassay qualification from a publication?

Hi AllI'd like to re-create the following DoE for cell-based bioassay qualification and robustness testing published by  Coffey et al, 2013 (BioProcess International 11(6) June 2013). Objectives of qualification study: to estimate assay accuracy, intermediate precision, and linearity across the normal operating range of assay conditions; to assess robustness of relative potency and 4PL model param...

  • Can we have Monte Carlo simulation in regression parameters

Hello: I was just wondering if there is a way to incorporate Monte-Carlo simulation in regression parameters.I guess once I have the regression equation I can run a Monte-Carlo simulation by specifying a distribution for each parameter and get the distribution of the output parameter. Q1) But while creating that regression equation will three data points (one at each LSL and USL of tolerance zone ...

  • Do 3rd order effects help define curvature?

If you have are making a design with a factor you are certain will have a quadratic relationship against a response but you have a wide range, can it be helpful to define a 3rd order model effect for that factor to better identify and model curvature. I work in purification and we often deal with a recovery vs. purity balance. This relationship is usually quadratic around the optimal, where at a l...

  • Neural networks that learn and predict in real time (incremental learning)

Hello community!!A query:- How JMP is configured to generate neural networks that learn from their inputs in real time (incremental learning) in such a way that it continually updates its weights according to new inputs and generates updated real-time predictions.Greetings,Marco

  • Which predictive analysis method/column organisation for RSM output with duplicate samples

Hi all. So I'm working on a project where I have 2 x component classes, each of which has 4 items within the class, which are mixed together at varying concentrations over 48 combinations. Figured the best Factor way to do this was to use 2 x Continuous for the max/min concentrations for each class, then 2 x 4-level Categoricals for each of the items. Each of the combinations was made twice, so af...

  • Could JMP optimize factors with uncertainty?

  • Caution: Places where Jmp does something unexpected

Definitely, JMP is Not a Spreadsheet . And that's great!! Besides this difference, there are other places where Jmp doesn't do/behave/produce what a newbie / innocent Jmp user expects.
If a user knows these issues and the remedies and workarounds -  he/she can
    a) save a lot of time b) be safe from data loss c) be sure that the results are as expected.
