  • Model reduction

Hello, According to the JMP learning model for DOE analysis, non-significant terms in the model can be removed, starting with the non-significant higher order interactions (= model reduction). However, is it really that simple? Are there other things to take into considerations before removing non-significant terms? Does removing a non-significant term necessarily meant that this factor has no/min...

  • Different minimal defect control range for defect profiler versus design space profiler

Goal of a study is to find control space of four factors so that three responses are within specification. In the profiler simulator first I used the defect profiler to check the impact of the factors on the defect rate given in the upper graph below. Then I used the design space profiler shown in the lower graph: results for minimum defect rate are different, why? I accept the control ranges of t...

  • Guidance on Data Analysis for a 4-Factor Mixture Design with 4 Responses

I am working on a mixture design in JMP with four continuous factors and four responses. While I have made progress in modeling and evaluating individual responses, I am finding it challenging to analyze all responses collectively. Specifically: The ternary plots are limited to visualizing only three mixture components at a time, which makes it difficult to understand the behavior of all four fact...

  • RSM - CCD for 29 iterations of an experiment

Good day! Me and my group mates are currently doing our thesis and we have been instructed by our adviser to make use of JMP for RSM and CCD. We don't really understand how to go by it. We have 4 variables and we would like to test their effect on three other variables. If we just do CCD with 4 continuous factors then we would only have 26 runs and we're confused because it will only fit 26 of the...

  • What functional forms are used by JMP for the desirability criteria

Hi! I have read that JMP does not use the Derringer and Suich (1980) functions to model the desirability function. How is the desirability function in JMP mathematically expressed to maximise one response and minimise another? I'd like to include this in the methods explanation of my work. Thank you in advance!

  • Sample size for Reliability Life Test

I have used the interval explorer for parametric reliability life test planning for sample size calculation of accelerated life test. Please can someone confirm if the sample size returned is the total sample size or sample size per stress levels? Assuming I have 3 temperature levels, do I use 75 samples per temperature level or 25?

  • Functional Data Analyses returning DoE-factor (FDOE?)

Is it possible to do Functional Data Analyses like FPCA where the components reflect DoE-factors? (like in ASCA). It seems that FDOE profiler does something similar. Where can I fin it in JMP 18-pro?

  • help to get R squared predicted

Hello!I installed a script from a community response regarding the calculation of R²pred, as shown in the image below (I'm using JMP 18 pro): (link da resposta do @erich_gundlach https://community.jmp.com/t5/JMP-Add-Ins/Predicted-R-square-calculator/ta-p/39927)  In PRESS, R²pred didn't appear. (Press is low because I haven't reduced the model yet, don't worry =))  I really need to show these R²pre...

  • Sample size calculation for accelerated life testing

I am trying to use the interval explorer for parametric reliability life test planning tool for sample size required for an ALT test but need some clarification on the following questions.         1. Is the Weibull alpha the characteristic life at stress or at use life? 2. Is the Quantile the pFail at stress or use life and how does the quantile impact the required sample size?3. Is the calculated...

  • How do I replace a prediction expression in a fit model with a specific expression?

Hi, I am completing a DOE and I have ran a fit model using the JMP software to define a design space based on desirability of certain variables, however one of the desirability variables is a simple ratio of two of the construct model effects, however when running the model, the model is defining its own prediction expression for this variable rather than using the formula in the data table. Does ...

  • How does AICc criterion and Combined rules interact in Stepwise Fit Platform?

As an entry-level user of JMP but with a bit of statistical knowledge. I encountered with a problem when trying to use the stepwise fit platform to develope a regression model for my DoE dataset.

I read the JMP help book and understand how combined rule applied to p-value based stepwise regression (a joint F-test and another partial F-test of interaction effect when added precedent main effects). ...
