  • To validate a model, can I compare the optimal conditions with that of the same model with 6 new runs added?

Here are the optimal conditions for the model comprised of 15 Box Behnken design runs with standard least squares.  The optimal conditions for the model comprised of the same 15 Box Behnken design runs + 6 new runs, yield nearly the same optimal conditions with a slightly lower defect rate to fall within the spec limits.   Could it be statistically justifiable to compare the optimal conditions of ...

  • Determination of expiration date from a non-linear fitting

Dear Team,Does the degradation tool for determining the expiration date rely only on a linear regression?
Is it possible to determine the expiry date using a non-linear model? If possible how should I do?
Or does the ICH require using only a linear model?

  • JMP SCRIPT: Creation of a graph based on a user selection variable

Hi all, I would like to create a graph based on a user filter selection. However, JMP doesn't recognize the variable "Y" choosen by the user, and an error occurs. Here is my code:Y = concat(Y," (ppm)"); graph = RAW_DATA_TABLE << Control Chart Builder( Size( 534, 450 ), Show Two Shewhart Charts( 0 ), Show Control Panel( 0 ), Sort by Row Order( 1 ), Variables( Y( :"Y...

  • DoE design for a chemical reaction with time point data

I would like to generate a DoE design to optimize a chemical reaction. In this example, let's say there are three factors to be varied, but I would also like to include time as additional factor. To reduce the number of reactions required to be performed, I would like to take samples at three time points and measure all the responses. I think it would be wrong to include time directly as a factor ...

  • DoE - Continuous factors not allowing to set the decimal format

Hello, When I try to insert a decimal number in a continuous factor of DoE: it does not allow it. It appears a huge number like the below (instead of 2.2 that I inserted. I tried with "." and "," and the result is always this): How can I solve this? Thank you in advance,Helena G.

  • Margin of error of predictor screening

Hi!I was wondering if I can get the margin of error of a predictor screening model I run to be able to compare the portion of the predictors across different groups within one sample -by running the model "By" the different groups- and understand if the differences are true differences or not -similarly to the concept of statistically significant differences in research/ survey data-.Does this mak...

  • Order of addition experiments, simultaneous addition, and delayed addition

Hello - I am working on an process that has an obvious order of addition effect. I have a plugin from JMP that uses a pairwise ordering scheme that can be plugged in as a covariate factor. But, one of the components is a powder, so there is the choice to predissolve it in the solvent being used, or to add it directly as a powder. Also, there could be some benefit to having some components simultan...

  • Response Screening Effect Size - logistic

Related to the previous post How to get "Effect size" column with Response Screening functionality , I am also wondering how effect size in the response screening platform is calculated, specifically for categorical Y vs continuous X.  JMP help shows:  "When Y is categorical and X is continuous, the effect size is the square root of the average ChiSquare value for the whole model test."  Running b...

  • DoE with two-choice experiments, continuous response variable

We want to rank the preference  of population of animals for n different recipes. Recipes are tested in two-choice assays, where groups of over 100 individuals can choose one choice or the other. Preference for the group is computed as a preference index, a continuous variable that is between -1 and 1. Is there an experimental design that would help reduce the number of combinations to test in ord...

  • Sub-sampling data analysis in JMP

In Biology (Plant Sci. and Agriculture) usually we have sub-sampling data for replicates. It's very difficult to analyze these data in commonly use Stat S/W (SPSS/Minitab) because MSS(Error) is calculating wrongly.  Without taking averages of samsamples, the easiest S/W for this is using JMP and I need some assistance for this. I've found very useful Youtube video about subsampling in JMP  (CRD: S...
