  • Controlling nominal 2-level factor coding

    Greetings, I'm having trouble understanding JMP's coding of a simple 2-level factorial design. The (-1,1) levels of the coding table created by Fit Model (Standard Least Squares, Effect Screening) appear reversed from the design table Pattern and associated column Value Orders. I've attached an example design with factor levels named to keep track of low and high levels (Full Factorial-Nom.jmp). T...

  • Arbitrary Operations (functions etc.) on each item in a list

    Is there a more simple way of applying the same function on each item of a list rather than iterating through a list?For example:stringlist = {"1", "2"}; numericlist = {}; for (i = 1, i<=N Items(stringlist), i++, numericlist[i] = Num(stringlist[i]) ); show(numericlist);Is there something simpler, something like just saying:numericlist = Num(stringlist);but this obviously doesn't work. Any other...

  • Blinking horizontal bar in JMP journals

    When I work in JMP journals, ever since the upgrade to JMP 16 I see a blinking, horizontal bar at the top of every journal. This is extremely distracting and highly frustrating. Is there any way to turn this off? I have copied a screenshot in below that shows where this bar is blinking. (Today is one of these days where I'd say it is unbearable to work with JMP journals if this blinking doesn't st...

  • DOE custom design with covariates

    Hi community, I'm seeking to gain knowledge on what factors influence the force required to push on an inhalator mouthpiece to an inhalator.I have 8 boxes (A through H), each containing 1 inhalator and 12 mouth pieces (A1 to A12, B1 to B12, and so on). There are 3 types of inhalators across these 8 boxes (3 brown + 3 green + 2 red), but all the 96 mouthpieces are supposed to be identical.It is unk...

  • Sub-sampling data analysis in JMP

    In Biology (Plant Sci. and Agriculture) usually we have sub-sampling data for replicates. It's very difficult to analyze these data in commonly use Stat S/W (SPSS/Minitab) because MSS(Error) is calculating wrongly.  Without taking averages of samsamples, the easiest S/W for this is using JMP and I need some assistance for this. I've found very useful Youtube video about subsampling in JMP  (CRD: S...
