I am trying to rename the coulmn 3 times in my script and it only works for the first time but does not work after. I am using JMP11.

col

= column("VALUE")

;

col

<< set name("VALUE_orig")

;

Data Table

( "Map data" ) << newcolumn("VALUE", numeric, continuous, formula(abs(:VALUE_orig)))

;

col

= column("VALUE")

;

col

<< set name("VALUE_nonlog")

;

col

= column("VALUE_trans")

;

col

<< set name("VALUE")

;

Any suggestion?

Re: I am trying to rename the coulmn 3 times in my script and it only works for the first time but does not work after. I am using JMP11.

Check the JMP Log window for messages.

If there is more than one table open, make sure to specify the table:

dtBC=open("$sample_data/big class.jmp");

dtCP=open("$sample_data/car poll.jmp");

bcsex = column( dtBC, "sex" );

cpsex = column( dtCP, "sex" );

bcsex[2] = "f";

cpsex[2] = "m";

Both tables contain a "sex" column.  Data table variables are created in lines 1 and 2.  The data table is explicitly specified in lines 4 and 5.  Lines 7 and 8 modify the columns in the corresponding tables.
