Add "My Wish List Submissions" view to JMP Community forum

What inspired this wish list request?

I’ve submitted multiple ideas to the Wish List board over time, and I recently wanted to go back and review them — for example, to check status, see if there were updates or comments, or reference them in discussions with colleagues.

However, JMP support has confirmed that there isn't a way to view just my own Wish List submissions. While I can see my general forum activity via my profile, there doesn’t appear to be a way to filter specifically to “Wish List posts authored by me” in a way that I can link and send to someone else.

Example use case:
I’ve submitted several feature requests over the past year. I want to:

  • quickly review all of them in one place
  • check which ones have traction (likes, comments, status changes)
  • follow up or reference them when talking with other users
  • send the entire list to other users for their consideration

Today, the only way to do this is by manually searching or scrolling through broader activity views, which is time-consuming and incomplete.

What is the improvement you would like to see?

Add a way for users to view and manage their own Wish List submissions in a single, dedicated view.

Some possible implementations:

  • A filter on the Wish List board such as: “My Submissions”
  • A link or tab in the user profile that shows: “Wish List Posts by Me”
  • Enhanced search/filter options (e.g., Author = Me, Board = Wish List)
  • Optional: a dashboard-style view showing status (Open, Under Consideration, Implemented, etc.)

Example:

  • Wish List page → filter dropdown → “Show: My Submissions”
  • Profile page → new section → “My Wish List Ideas”

This would be similar to how many issue-tracking systems (e.g., Jira, GitHub Issues) allow users to quickly view items they’ve created.

Why is this idea important?

This would significantly improve usability and engagement with the Wish List system:

  • Efficiency: Users can quickly find and track their own ideas without manual searching
  • Follow-through: Makes it easier to revisit, update, and advocate for submitted ideas
  • Visibility: Helps users see which of their ideas are gaining traction
  • Encouragement to contribute: Lower friction makes people more likely to submit and stay engaged

For users who actively contribute ideas, this becomes almost a “personal backlog” of feature requests. Without this capability, it’s surprisingly difficult to manage or even rediscover past submissions.

The cool thing in the wish list:
you don't have to apply tricks to get the permission to submit more than 3 wishes :- )

On the other hand: "listing my own wishes" -  is no threat, right?
Threat for whom?

one could think about other filters as well, like : older than 2020 - status: neither rejected nor delivered - and more than 20 Kudos:

@Craige_Hales  Sounds like you're saying this will get rejected because it's about the wish-list system itself?  Well, the reason I submitted it is because someone at support@jmp.com told me to.

This will bring you very close:
https://community.jmp.com/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/message?filter=location,authorId&q=a&location=ide...

- it list more than "your" wishes: you will see wishes with your comments as well
- on the other side: wishes without an "a" are not listed

@BHarris  I've no idea if it will be addressed. It's likely the JMP web team will have to talk to the vendor that provides the framework for the site. I just liked the wish about wishes, and have wished for similar abilities myself.

Anyone trying @hogi  suggestion--you can grab your user id from the url bar when you are on the user page (click the user icon at the top right of the page.)
