Lets face it, JSL isn't the most user friendly language to use. It is mostly designed for you to back up your data after working on a lengthy project. With that being said, there are many usefull things you can do with it. This thread is dedicated to the basics of JSL. If I leave out some things, and I will, please feel free to reply and help out the users of JMP, so it isn't as hard as it was for...
Hi JMP users - I'm a newbie and cannot figure out how to do a simple logistic regression which will display in a table format my variables with p-values, odds ratios, and confidence intervals.
My Y variable is coded as 1 (event) and 2 (no event). I have 13 other variables that are also coded as 1, 2, 3, 4 with the exception of year, which is ordinal.
I tried "Fit Model" but that did not give me odd...
Hi,
I have written a rather substantial script to do some analysis which creates several data tables along the way. I'd like to be able to include some things to make this script a little more easy for someone other than me to use, such as a button to allow them to save a particular table without them having to figure out which of the 6 open tables it is.
The problem is I'm not sure how to get to a ...
Usage Note 33383 gives flags for linux version of JMP that allows it to be called without opening the gui, eg
%jmp --no-gui /path/to/JSL_script.jsl
are there analogous command line flags for windows?
the following works but opens the gui
"C:\Program Files\SAS\JMP\8\jmp.exe" test.jsl

Hi Guys,
I am trying to use the following script to send column names to the graph builder suite but JMP is throwing an exception and quitting.
(names contains column names, I am using i as a subscript, the forum does not show it)
Is there a way to do post-hoc testing for the Kruskal-Wallis test for non-parametric data? I have searched the web and most use the Nemenyi test as described by Zar in Biostatistical analysis 3rd edition p226. I have a large amount of data and don't want to do all this by hand.
Many thanks
I am evaluating JMP (currently V. 7, but my company is in the upgrade process) and I am particularly interested in figuring out how to use the Profiler for some of my frequent activities. Can anyone help with the following?
I would like to simulate a function F(x, theta(i)) over a range of x values. Theta(i) is a set of parameters drawn from a multivariate-normal distribution for each individual ...
Hello,
I am a longtime user of JMP7. To make overlay normal quantile plots I use Fit Y by X, where Y is the continual variable like Height and X is a categorical variable like Gender. Using Right-click/Legend gives a nice color coded legend for the curves, but JMP also tries to label each curve way up at the top (upper quantile) end of the curve. Invariably these are ugly and overlap each other. ...
