Calculating Quantiles for a newbie
To be honest I have never taken a statistics class and for the most part fail at math. I have a set of data that represents cycle time for several stages of an order and I was asked to find the weighted average which wasn't really a problem and I was able to do this inside of SQL. Then I wass told that it was great but they also wanted 80th and 95th percentiles for the orders. After looking confus...

Combination Line Chart and Bar Chart?
Is there a way in JMP to create a graph that combines a line chart with a bar chart? I was not able to create one using regular menus.
This is pretty easy to do in Excel, btw.
Thanks,

Distribution choices
If the best-fit distribution is not the one you want to use, can you use the differences in the AICc or -2*loglikelihood values to justify the selection? If not, how could that be accomplished?

Overlay normal quantile plots without long string labels
Hello,
I am a longtime user of JMP7. To make overlay normal quantile plots I use Fit Y by X, where Y is the continual variable like Height and X is a categorical variable like Gender. Using Right-click/Legend gives a nice color coded legend for the curves, but JMP also tries to label each curve way up at the top (upper quantile) end of the curve. Invariably these are ugly and overlap each other. ...karenb
