  • Multivariate analysis for non-normal distribution (not transformable)?

Dear JMP community, I need to analyze the effects of treatment and multiple biomarkers on an clinical outcome variable that is not distributed normally (see histogram below). Based on my limited knowledge, I'm pretty sure that I cannot use the Standard Least Square model for the analysis of this data since the error generated by the model is not distributed normally. So, what would be my best opti...

  • Real roots of degree 3 Polynomial

Hello everyone, Does anyone know how to calculate real roots of degree 3 polynomial with JMP scripting ?  I have the coefficients of the equation :  0 = A + B.X + C.X² + DX^3. What I need is the real solutions.I started to create a new data table with lots of rows in order to get as close as possible to the desired value, but it takes too much time. Thanks,

  • In JSL, with rows already selected, how do I select a subset of those cells which are in a column

In JSL, with rows already selected, how do I select a subset of those cells which are in a column. For instance, if rows 4, 12, 180, and 205 are already selected (for example), how do I subselect just the overlap cells of that and a certain column (column 10 for example) or columns (10,12 and 17 say).

  • Sample size estimation for mixed model designs

Hello, I am somewhat new to the concept of mixed model analyses for repeated measures but I believe that they will be of great use to my projects. One thing that I am having trouble grapping with is how to go about estimating what type of sample size I should be aiming for. ANOVA and t-test sample size calculations are easy to follow but I don't even know where to start for mixed model repeated me...

  • .jsl scripts will lock files even while set to read and execute permissions only

I am having an issue where an add-in script which runs another script via the include(); function is locking the included script file while other users are running it. This renders me unable to update that script. I tried setting the permissions on the repository and the file as read and execute only but it still locks when other users access it.

  • Multivariate-Imputation

When I perform data analysis, I use the imputate missing values in the multivariate plateform(https://www.jmp.com/support/help/13-2/Impute_Missing_Data.shtml). Where could I find the documentation on how this imputation method is done--such as formula, etc. I need to provide it in the paper I am writing.  Thank you!

  • Question on Repeated Measures with Multiple Continuous Variables

Hi everyone, I'm a new JMP user (and not at all a statistics expert!) with a question about repeated measures. I have a data set with 10 subjects, who were each measured between 4-6 times over several weeks, before and after exposure to a pathogen. At each measurement point, binding potential was calculated and a complete blood count was ALSO taken (there were also a couple of times when complete ...

  • Sub-sampling data analysis in JMP

In Biology (Plant Sci. and Agriculture) usually we have sub-sampling data for replicates. It's very difficult to analyze these data in commonly use Stat S/W (SPSS/Minitab) because MSS(Error) is calculating wrongly.  Without taking averages of samsamples, the easiest S/W for this is using JMP and I need some assistance for this. I've found very useful Youtube video about subsampling in JMP  (CRD: S...

  • Conceptual question about the profit matrix

This issue has been discussed previously, but I keep finding myself confused about how to use the profit matrix.  My question is conceptual in nature, so let's just use some simple numbers.  Suppose I have data on customer churn and I build a predictive model for churn (the particular technique does not matter for this question).  My decision errors are not symmetric, however, so I want to modify ...

  • Cox Proportional Hazard - adjusting risk ratio with std dev

I'm working with someone who is using SAS and I'm trying to do the same analysis in JMP.  When I  questioned their hazard ratio they said it was adjusted by the standard deviation. They commented:In order to obtain results in units of 1 standard deviation – you simply get the standard deviation value for parameter of interest and introduce it in the PH regression statement, for example:proc phreg ...
