  • If you fit a block as a fixed effect in a saturated model, and its effect is not significant after you reduce it via stepwise regression, do you need to add it back to the model?

This was posted to the JMP blog yesterday where Phil Kay describes reducing a saturated model with a block effect. He says the random block should be added as a fixed effect 1st in this specific case, then after you reduce the model via stepwise regression, you should re-fit the reduced model & add the block as a random effect. In his example the block was significant after he reduced the model. I...

  • Test and Build ONE to Many Correlations

Hi JMP community,    Does any of you know how to test One-to-Many correlations instead of using the "multivariate" function at Aanalyze?  I would like to quickly screen and generate a top list of genes from a 20,000-gene panel that have strong correlations with the target of interest, along with corresponding r and p-values. Then, build the correlation matrix with the target of interest.  Many tha...

  • How to filter a group of columns by a defined list of selection

Hi JMP community,  I'd like to filter a group of columns in a table based on the "Response Screening" results, which provided a list of statistically significant markers of interest with p and FDR values, e.g., the top 20 significant markers.  And the "Response Screening" result was embedded and saved in the data table.  How can I filter the 20 columns in the data table, where the column names mat...

  • JSL: Help accessing report information: Xpath or Tree Structure?

Hello scripters,     I'm having some difficulty trying to access some information in a report coming from the XGBoost add-in platform. I have a JSL program where I generate a table of different XGB models -- different depths, learning rates, iterations, etc. This code runs the XGBoost platform and then pulls information from the XGB report to store in a output data table.     The difficulty I'm ha...

  • How can I limit the analysis from going into negative values?

I want to analyze a 4-factor DOE. However, some responses are negative. This makes my model completely meaningless. These are results that cannot be negative. I used two fields to limit the responses. I added a visual representation of these fields, but they did not work. Can I perform an analysis that does not accept negative responses? Can I set such a restriction? Could you please share any sug...

  • Sankey Plot Color Assignment

Hi JMP Community,  Do you have any experience assigning the color for all sequences in a Sankey Plot with the SAME color category?   The challenge I encountered was that each sequence had a different color category, making it difficult to track the change of items from sequence 1 to 2... to n with the same color assigned.  Many thanks!

  • Python and JMP 18

Hello,   I am trying to use a piece of code in JMP 18, but I am not sure I understand how it works. I install the pythonn packages at the very beginning, then I send my variables to Python and run the Python code. But I always get one of the following errors: Either it does not detect numpy, even though numpy is installed, or it no longer detects the variable I just sent.   Names Default To Here(...

  • I cannot see the label when I hover on the bubble

I build a bubble plot and the labels don't appear when I hover over the bubble. I was able to see and pin them before but I cannot see them now. Is there a special setting? Thanks, Monika
