  • Can you use JSL script to run the Means/ANOVA and Student's t within Fit Y by X

I am building a workflow and while recording I do the Fit Y by X and then do the Means/ANOVA and Means Comparisons -> Student's t. When I stop recording it only does the JSL script for the Fit X by Y:Data Table( "My Table" ) << Oneway( Y( :Percent Change ), X( :Estimate ), Means( 1 ), Mean Diamonds( 1 ), Each Pair( 1 ), SendToReport( Dispatch( {}, "Oneway Plot", FrameBox, {Frame Size( 474...

  • Count the numeric passages in a string

This is probably a very specific one but I have a string contained in a JMP cell and I need to be able to isolate a specific passage of numeric characters in the string.  The string contains both characters and numbers and the sequence can be variable.  For example if I have the cell entry aaa1b222c3 and I want to zero in on the 222 passage, I considered a means to count the number of numeric pass...

  • Thank you note

Not a question but a thank you note. Wanted to express my gratitude for developing and maintaining this wonderful product. Amidst a sea of apps with limited functionality and usability, yours truly stands out. Thank you for creating something exceptional!

I use JMP whenever I need to quickly look at some data - exploratory analysis. But it also amazes me how in-depth and thought through some of the...

  • How to make bubbles persist in bubble plot

Hi I have a data table with x, y, ID, and time columns. There is a temporal phenomenon that I want to show with the data, so I am using a bubble plot with X = x, Y = y, ID = ID, Time = time. Each point appears at the appropriate x,y coordinate at the appropriate time. I used the ID field so that each point appears on its own and is not tied to other points over time. Unfortunately, each point disa...

  • Is there a way to tell LCA that the rows are ordered by class?

Typical dataset: 120-200 rows, 15 classes. Rows are known to be ordered by class. What is unknown is where the 'fences' between classes are. As-is -- i.e., without taking row order into account -- LCA correctly classifies about 94% of rows. My intuition is that if I knew how to tell the algorithm that the rows are grouped by class on input, we'd be at 100%. Visual, in case my use of 'grouped by' i...

  • Characters as Markers: How to get rid of the shadows?

I like the ability to add outlines to data points. This is very useful for separating partially overlapping data points.Unfortunately, when characters are used as markers, the outline mode looks very unprofessional - kind of like shadows, but without blur.Besides turning off the outline mode - is there a way to get rid of the "shadows"? (view in My Videos)  Names Default to Here(1); dt = Open( "$S...

  • I would like to find another political scientist or other social scientist who has worked with mapping congressional districts and counties

There are great bodies of data presented by counties (disease incidence, education, income). There are other bodies of data presented by congressional districts (incumbents, vote percentages, etc.)  I want to find someone who has mapped the counties and the congressional districts into the same space.  I know this can be done with ESRI products, but  I wanted to avoid jumping off the JMP platform....
