  • Statistical Significance on Time Series Trend

    I am looking for a way to assess the statistical significance of a trend in a time series data set.

    For instance the "Seriesg" example data set in JMP (the airline passengers set) shows a steady increase in the "log Passengers" variable. It has a cyclic pattern and the "JMP Start Statistics" book discusses this on pg 531.

    But what I cannot find anywhere is a way to get a t-test on the slope of th...

  • How to open files with a certain file name only?

    Hi Guys,

    I am trying to open some files which have a certain name as follows:

    files1 = Files In Directory( "C:\log\*.test*" );

    However I do not get anything in files1. How can I just search for specific file names and save them in the files1 list?

  • JSL Script to Initialize Data as Date Sequence

    I'm trying to write some JSL code that will:

    1) prompt user for starting and ending dates for range of data to initialized

    2) create new table and have this table add the number of rows equal to end date - start date, initialize new column with dates that increment by 1 day per row.

    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to accomplish this? I've included my test code so far. Thanks.

    This is first time for me to use this kind of Community Tools.

    1) where can I see the value of the bin?
    2) which is the formula used from JMP to calculate the bin for the firts visualization?

    I'm new to JMP and need to go into an Oracle database and turn about 50 tables into JMP tables using JSL.

    I've found and can use the OPEN DATABASE command, but have several questions:

    1) Once you've opened the database, how do you disconnect from it at the end?

    2) The OPEN DATABASE Command accepts an SQL statement and a JMP table name. How do you get data from 50 tables and put them into 50 J...

  • Overlay normal quantile plots without long string labels

    Hello,

    I am a longtime user of JMP7. To make overlay normal quantile plots I use Fit Y by X, where Y is the continual variable like Height and X is a categorical variable like Gender. Using Right-click/Legend gives a nice color coded legend for the curves, but JMP also tries to label each curve way up at the top (upper quantile) end of the curve.
