  • Comparing failure rates between two processes

Process A has 2 fails out of 1000 units and Process B has 4 fails out of 750 units. Point estimates of failure rate are 2/1000 = 0.002 and 4/750 = 0.005 for Process A and B, respectively. How can I use JMP to prove statistical significance of failure rate difference? How do I setup the data table for that? How to put confidence interval around those failure rate estimates to check if intervals are...

  • Comparision in Select Where () statement

    Hi all,
I have extensively searched this website and I think it's an easy solution, but for some reason I cannot get it to work and I have been stuck with it for 2 days.In the below script I ask the user which part of specific column he would like to select. For example where the column has the value 8. (the column can have values from 1 up to 8). That I would like to select the rows with this valu...

  • Adding repeated measurements to a DOE

I am currently trying to set up an experimental design using JMP PRO to study the impact of 3 variables on an extraction process. Two of these variables are continuous (pressure and concentration). The third variable is the amount of times I run my sample through the machine (from 1 to 4 times). How can I add this to my design in the most efficient way? I tried making an I-optimal RSM design but t...

  • How do I display Control Chart control limit in "Duration - hr:m" format?

Hi,I want to be able to display the control chart limits as a Duration but I can only display as numeric value. The column properties are defined as hr:m and I can display the axis, capability chart, etc. in hr:m but I am not even able to define a Control Limit manually in hr:m format. Does anybody know a work-around? Thanks,Chris

  • Use Limits Table In Distributions Platform

Hi, is it possible to use a limits table to load specifications grouped by some factor in platforms other than Process Screening? Ideally I'd like to use the limits table in the distributions platform. Thanks in advance, Alicia

  • Caution: Places where Jmp does something unexpected

Definitely, JMP is Not a Spreadsheet . And that's great!! Besides this difference, there are other places where Jmp doesn't do/behave/produce what a newbie / innocent Jmp user expects.
If a user knows these issues and the remedies and workarounds -  he/she can
    a) save a lot of time b) be safe from data loss c) be sure that the results are as expected.

Hello Everyone,I was looking for someone who could help me with a dilemma I'm facing with respect to an MSA for a microscope. The specific problem is that i do not have tolerance I can input for my type 1 analysis. Resolution used is 5 microns per pixel, the accuracy cannot be below 5 microns. This is the standard resolution for particles starting from 50 microns. I have attached the Linearity stu...

  • How to prove that the composition of the chemical mixture before and after treatment is significantly different?

Hello! I need to show that compositions of chemical mixture before and after treatment are significantly different. Composition is given in weight %, so the total of all components' weight % in the mixture is 100%. This also means that if one component weight % in the mixture decreased after treatment all other component weight % should be increased. Can I use "Test Mean" from the Distribution pla...
