  • Analyzing pH Data

Hello- I am reviewing the attached pH/lot data set and I have a few goals I want to achieve. Could anyone help me with determining the best tests to run in JMP? Thank you!! 1. My pH specification is 6.5-7.1. Based on the results that I have gathered per lot, can I statistically justify changing my lower specification limit to 6.0? and if I cant, what would an acceptable lower limit be based on my ...

  • Changing Standard Deviation with Weights in "Distribution" Platform

This general topic has been discussed before here but I am unsatisfied. The JMP expert posted a formula that perhaps explains what's going on. But I have a conceptual question. I would think that weighting is useful to adjust estimates if one wants to weight, say, some subsamples more than others. Like if one had 100 men and 1,000 women, and one wanted to estimate the mean and SD of a sample that ...

  • Best Method of Monitoring SPCs from Different Data Tables

I am monitoring a large number of SPCs and am trying to understand the best way to accomplish this within JMP 17. At the moment, I have a JMP Project set up with ~100 different data tables. I have a script in each that performs the appropriate analysis for each data table and an overarching script that will iterate through each data table and execute the analysis script in that data table. I am th...

  • How to deal with missing data?

    Hi,

Recently l ran a 2^4 factorial model for an extrusion experiment. I intend to model the quadratic terms including interaction terms.

however some of the points were a little ambitious and the extrusion failed. Hence, I was unable to collect certain responses for these points. I would like some advice on how to proceed. Should I repeat the experiment with less aggressive levels or can I just augm...

  • JMP Live data filter in control chart updates chart USL and LSL but not the points with a selection after data refresh

I have a JMP Live control chart with a data filter. When i click the data filter it changes the control chart accordingly. However, when the data refreshes it no longer updates the points in the control chart. It will still update the shaded regions or other aspects of the chart with the data filter selection but not the points themselves.

  • Caution: Places where Jmp does something unexpected

Definitely, JMP is Not a Spreadsheet . And that's great!! Besides this difference, there are other places where Jmp doesn't do/behave/produce what a newbie / innocent Jmp user expects.
If a user knows these issues and the remedies and workarounds -  he/she can
    a) save a lot of time b) be safe from data loss c) be sure that the results are as expected.

  • How to prove that the composition of the chemical mixture before and after treatment is significantly different?

Hello! I need to show that compositions of chemical mixture before and after treatment are significantly different. Composition is given in weight %, so the total of all components' weight % in the mixture is 100%. This also means that if one component weight % in the mixture decreased after treatment all other component weight % should be increased. Can I use "Test Mean" from the Distribution pla...
