  • Regression model based on DOE with many repetitions

Hi community, I've received a data set from an experiment where a product was dropped from a certain height and its performance tested afterwards, resulting in a pass/fail response. There were six different configurations of the device, and 16 specimens of each configuration. All 96 specimens were drop tested in random order. The main reason for the many repetitions for each configuration is that th...

  • Why Is This a Cringeworthy Statistics Statement? #1

I'm going to start a few discussion threads over the next few weeks, and I invite any JMP user to chime   in with their thoughts.  These discussions will revolve around "Cringeworthy Statistics Statements."    Please consider contributing.  After a few days, I'll summarize thoughts in a blog post, and introduce another Cringeworthy Statement!   Here is Cringeworthy Statement #1:   We run a t-test...

  • Multivariate Nominal Logistic Regression- Prediction Expression

I am using the Fit Model platform to fit three continuous variables to a binary outcome.  There is an option to "Save Probability Formula" which then outputs onto my original data data, and then populates probabilities and then classifications when I input new rows of data for my three variables.  However, I do not see an option to Show Prediction Expression.     e.g.  Variables:  Temperature, Len...

  • Controlling the .jmp suffix at end of table names

Hi.  Does anyone know how to control if the ".jmp" extension appears at the end of your table name when opened?   I've noticed when I open some tables it's there, but on other tables, not.  I do not know why.  I'm writing a script that uses the table name and I need it to be consistent. Is there a preference I can use to control it, or some command?  I have considered just arbitrarily stripping th...

  • Rotate MAP North South

    Hello,

Does JMP have the capability to rotate a map North/South as oppose to simply using Lat Longs? If I have a SHP file within this map would that rotate as well?

    Thanks!

  • A Cringeworthy Statistic Statement: #2 in a series

Thanks again to all who joined in my first "Cringeworthy" discussion topic.  Very interesting discussion   points were contributed!  I have published a blog post on why I cringe when I hear that first statement.     Here is a second scenario and statement that makes me cringe:     A company experienced a problem with yield on a production line.  The working hypothesis was that it was related to a...

  • Variability Chart Platform Factor Re-Insert Positions (Not Swapping)

Hello JMP Community, I understand dragging between any two factors swaps the location pairs in the Variability Chart platform. Is there a way to drag to specifically re-insert the factors instead? For example, can I drag "Layout" between "Horizontal" and "Wafer ID" in the attached screenshot instead of performing multiple drags to have the intended result? I am aware I can do this reordering with ...

  • Get (x & y) intercept values from linear fit of the linear region of a curve/data and store them in a new column

I have JMP data table with data from several parts for which a Capacitance 'C' has been measured as a function of reverse voltage 'V' (0 to -5 V in -0.1V step). A plot of [1/C]^2 vs V has a linear part for small reverse bias (say from 0 V to -0.5V and data is available at 0, -0.1, -0.2, -03, -0.4 -0.5 V within this range). How to do a linear fit to the points between 0 to -5V for each part, extrac...

  • Debugger report for finding bottlenecks

I'm trying to find bottlenecks in a large script with many includes.  I can run the debugger to profile the script but I'm wondering if there's a better way than just looking through each included script for the highest number.  I'm imagining a pareto.     Anyone know a good method to analyze script performance?
