  • Stability analysis on pH

Hello, I am running a stability study on several lots of a buffer solution based on the measured pH over time. I noticed that the stability analysis in JMP fits the data to a linear degradation model. Is this appropriate to use for a pH analysis since the pH scale follows a log base 10 relationship?Would it be more appropriate to first convert the values to [H3O+] concentration? (Or, is there an a...

  • Ordering Files in Folder

Folks, I have a list of files that I want to concatenate (see first figure).  The preference would be to concatenate as shown, that is "surf_12275-87-1..., "surf_12275-87-2...", etc. However, when I form a list from the files in the folder (after stripping off unnecessary characters) , the sequence is "12275-87-1, 12275-87-10, 12275-87-11". The preference however, would be "12275-87-1, 12275-87-2,...

  • JMP Import: "XLookup" equation in Excel file

    Great,in Excel 365 there is a new "XLookup/XVerweis" *) function
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/xlookup-function-b7fd680e-6d10-43e6-84f9-88eae8bf5929 But  JMP  doesn't seem to understand it (yet). Same at your site? *) In contrast to the old VLookup/Sverweis, for XLookup the column with the return values can now also be in front of the search values. No re-shuffling of columns anymore ;)...

  • Interpretation of leverage plots

Compare the model leverage plots below. In the first, the x-values are being offset from their actual values, which is not happening in the second. The only difference between the two is that I've changed one number - table attached. The 214 in Factor 2 become 185 so that the two leftmost and two rightmost x-values in each plot are equal. From reading the help guides I'm guessing the offset is somet...

  • RNAi screening

I have an RNAi dataset with 3 technical replicates that was done in triplicate.  For example:Run 1gene X  45 gene X  59gene X  51Control 90 Run 2gene X  145 gene X  159gene X  151Control 190 Run 3gene X  35 gene X  39gene X  31Control 50 The real dataset has hundreds of genes and dozens of controls per experiment. Each run tends to vary in its average, but the experiments were the same. I think th...

  • Regression P-Values in a Column based on the Values from other Columns

Hi... I am trying to find an alternative to Nelson Rule number 3 (6 points increasing or decreasing) that uses a regression based on a number of  successive points an alpha value and a resultant p-value to help me flag when a signal is large enough to overcome noise. This is would be used for tool wear types of control charts.  Suppose I had a data set that looks like below (for simplicity) where;...

  • How do I get Odds Ratios after fitting a GLM with binomial distribution and logit function?

Hi everyone,I need to get OR after fitting a GLM with binomial distribution and logit function - that is a logistic model. I cannot fit a "nominal logistic" where there's the option for OR because I need to use the Firth adjustment for small-sample bias (I can only do that for that GLM). Is there an option to get the Odds Ratios? Thank you in advance. Antony

  • Return number from specified row of calculation column in either a text edit box or number edit box in an add in

Hello,  I'm attempting to build an application in application builder. I have two modules currently. The first module is a series of number edit boxes and lists that allow the user to input values and make selections. After pushing a button, the inputs and/or list selections update table variables in a data table that subsequently updates column equations. The data table opens in the background so ...

  • Comparing observed/predicted from different models. (Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) or Mean Absolute Error (MAE))?

I'm using the neural platform to calculate a model that makes predictions from some observed data and want to compare the performance of that model to other models (not from JMP). To compare the different models, I want to compare the observed data and the predictions from the different models. The R2 is not a good measure because it checks for any linear relationship between the observed and predi...

  • Problem specifying model for a partly nested ANOVA design

My study design is mixed-model with one fixed between-plot fixed factor (A), a random plot factor (B), nested in A (B[A]), and two crossed within-plot fixed factors (C and D).  I'm able to enter a full factorial model that includes the 3 fixed factors and all their interactions, using either the Least Squares or Mixed-Model Personality.  I'm also able to add the random factor (B[A]), but things go...
