  • How do write a JSL that implements one of the conditions for selecting a subset using cell values?

For example, in "Big Class.jmp": add" add" column,And change the value of the first row of the "add" column to "&:height<65". How do code JSL to add the condition in the first row of the "add" column?  Make the JSL function of this combination the same as that of the following code:dt = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Big Class.jmp" ); dt << Select Where( sex == "F" & :age > 14 & :height < 65 ); d3 = dt << Su...

  • Paired T test vs ANOVA--and I cannot figure out how to run the ANOVA test.

We did a marketing study for our product that incidentally appears to show strong clinical treatment effect (participants had less pain at the end than the beginning) and I was volunteered to do the statistical analysis.I did a paired T test on the baseline versus week 8 pain scores ( Specialized Modelling--> Matched Pairs -->) with very low p values. However I got ambitious (because JMP makes it ...

  • Issue with conditional formatting (color) using 'for each row' and nested 'for' loop

Hello,I'm on the tail end of a script where I've summarized a bunch of data in various columns (both numeric and character). Looping to format numeric cells meeting certain criteria is easy enough but I'm having some issue assigning a color for character columns that contain a certain substring. For instance, a cell (with the following content:1,1,2,1,1,2,3,3) should be colored red because it conta...

  • Bivariate analysis

Merci d'avance Marie

  • Capturing selections made by a user using the local data filter in Graph Builder

I would like to be able to capture the selection made when a user selects a value using the local data filter for a Graph Builder object. For example in the snippet below, if I selected "Apple" using the local data filter, how do I capture "Apple" in a variable so I can put it in a chart title. Does this require the use of the row state handler? I have not used that before.  Thank you! -Jens Names...

  • How do I get Odds Ratios after fitting a GLM with binomial distribution and logit function?

Hi everyone,I need to get OR after fitting a GLM with binomial distribution and logit function - that is a logistic model. I cannot fit a "nominal logistic" where there's the option for OR because I need to use the Firth adjustment for small-sample bias (I can only do that for that GLM). Is there an option to get the Odds Ratios? Thank you in advance. Antony

  • JMP and Adobe Flash

When JMP shows Adobe Flash, is only .swf supported or will other "Animate" formats be supported? https://helpx.adobe.com/animate/using/documents.html  Everyone knows how insecure flash files are. Have these other formats be enabled in the JMP/JMP Pro? I'm using and older version of JMP now not the lastest (16).

  • How to force a new best guess a column (modeling type and data type)

I am initiating a column as character containing empty values. Later on, this column will be populated with data from a data base that can be any type. By having characters no transformation is done by JMP. How can I force a new best guess via JSL?

  • Return number from specified row of calculation column in either a text edit box or number edit box in an add in

Hello,  I'm attempting to build an application in application builder. I have two modules currently. The first module is a series of number edit boxes and lists that allow the user to input values and make selections. After pushing a button, the inputs and/or list selections update table variables in a data table that subsequently updates column equations. The data table opens in the background so ...

  • Comparing observed/predicted from different models. (Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD) or Mean Absolute Error (MAE))?

I'm using the neural platform to calculate a model that makes predictions from some observed data and want to compare the performance of that model to other models (not from JMP). To compare the different models, I want to compare the observed data and the predictions from the different models. The R2 is not a good measure because it checks for any linear relationship between the observed and predi...

  • Problem specifying model for a partly nested ANOVA design

My study design is mixed-model with one fixed between-plot fixed factor (A), a random plot factor (B), nested in A (B[A]), and two crossed within-plot fixed factors (C and D).  I'm able to enter a full factorial model that includes the 3 fixed factors and all their interactions, using either the Least Squares or Mixed-Model Personality.  I'm also able to add the random factor (B[A]), but things go...
