  • working backwards from an event

In my mini table (attached) I have 6 units. Each unit can have a particular event called "Voltage Drop".I would like to add a column to my table that counts back from this event to any and all previous events that happened since the prior Voltage drop event for that unit and gives me the duration  from this event to the Voltage Drop event. Thanks

  • Question on creating progress bars

Hi all.  I have created a window with a progress bar and a "Cancel" button in it.  The intent is to allow the user to stop program execution.  I'm getting an error when I press cancel though, and do not know how to resolve it.  A simplified version of my script is below.   Names Default to Here(1); //Define progress window pwin = NewWindow("Progress", SB_L = SpacerBox(Size(0, 15), Color("Green")...

  • How do I transform a time data column (nominal) into continuous data in one unit (months)?

Hello All.In JMP, I work with stability data extracted from a LIMS system. When doing the analysis, I would have time in months on the X axis. The extracted data comes in two time “formats”: Either as time given in months (e.g. “M-12” or “M-36”) or as time given in days (e.g. “EOS-968” or “EOS-1011”). All data are located in the same column. I need the data to be continues to be able to do the req...

  • What is the best way to analyze the relationship between a binary and quantitative variable?

Hi, sorry if this is a really newb question but I'm working on a dataset for class on the relationship between depression and sleep. I have two variables, depression with a yes/no response, and average hours of sleep for each respondent (5,6,7,etc.). I analyzed the two for ANOVA and found their R-squared and the P value for the relationship, but is there a better test for this specific situation? ...

  • "not responding" vs. "still thinking"

I will sometimes set up some really big jobs on JMP Pro 16 on my Macbook Pro (32 GB of RAM), and after a few minutes, my Mac will tell me "Application not responding," which is confirmed by the Task Manager. However, many times, if the particular platform I am using has a status/progress bar, I will see it advancing (however slowly). Is it ever possible to know if the script is still running vs. w...

  • JMP script- Where( ) function not accepting string variable

Hello all,I want to script the "By" in a call to the Pareto function. I notice that Pareto plots plotted "By" something look like this:

Pareto Plot(Cause( :SBIN_NAM ), X( :Insertion ), Where( :lot_id == "4LU31HFN00_E95029" ))The "Where" implements the "By" field from the Pareto function dialog box.  So, I have a JMP script where I want to plot Pareto plots by a column called "lot_id".  However, I w...

  • Variability Chart Platform Factor Re-Insert Positions (Not Swapping)

Hello JMP Community, I understand dragging between any two factors swaps the location pairs in the Variability Chart platform. Is there a way to drag to specifically re-insert the factors instead? For example, can I drag "Layout" between "Horizontal" and "Wafer ID" in the attached screenshot instead of performing multiple drags to have the intended result? I am aware I can do this reordering with ...

  • Get (x & y) intercept values from linear fit of the linear region of a curve/data and store them in a new column

I have JMP data table with data from several parts for which a Capacitance 'C' has been measured as a function of reverse voltage 'V' (0 to -5 V in -0.1V step). A plot of [1/C]^2 vs V has a linear part for small reverse bias (say from 0 V to -0.5V and data is available at 0, -0.1, -0.2, -03, -0.4 -0.5 V within this range). How to do a linear fit to the points between 0 to -5V for each part, extrac...

  • Debugger report for finding bottlenecks

I'm trying to find bottlenecks in a large script with many includes.  I can run the debugger to profile the script but I'm wondering if there's a better way than just looking through each included script for the highest number.  I'm imagining a pareto.     Anyone know a good method to analyze script performance?
