  • Weibull model for bacterial decay

    I have been asked to do a linear regression using Weibull on jmp. It only seems to work for data with a positive curve (growth), however, when trying to select the Weibull for the decay data it cannot be selected. Is there a parameter I am missing or an assumption that doesn't allow me to use this model?

  • Multiple Comparison Intervals for Standard Deviation (Test for Equal Variance)

    Attached is a sample from Minitab of Multiple comparison intervals for the standard deviation.So, it is a crossed factor test for equal variance.Does jmp have a similar function? Had been trying to do to Fit Y by X but it only separates it.

  • CROSS VALIDATION - VALIDATION COLUMN METHOD

    When using the validation column method for cross validation , we split the data set into training , validation and test sets. This split ratio is specified by the user. Is there any guideline /reference to decide on the split ratio (such as 60:20:20 / 70:15:15 / 50:25:25 / 80 :10:10). Is it chosen also based on the total number of observations -N ?

    I'm working with a prediction formula for a class project, and I'm trying to type in the median # of people for January (for example), and JMP won't let me type in a value. I keep getting the "you're doing something wrong" windows sound, and nothing will type!

    I have a dataset in which training and validation data points are already defined. First N rows are training data and remaining are validation data. Data set in Excel file.Now, how to use already created validation column (in Excel) while performing some analysis in JMP (e.g. neural nets).
