  • 3rd power parameter DOE

Hi JMP ers,I have 4 factors and try to make a model with main effects, interactions, 2nd order and 3rd order power.I make design with recomended optimality criteria. When i checked color map correlations i can always see x1 and x1*x1*x1 correlation near to 1. How can make a DOE that does not have this problem?

  • How to build up a Face centered central composite design with JMP

Hey JMP users, I need to build up a Face centered CDD with 3 factors, each at 3 levels, 2 blocks and 4 center points. This is how I proceeded: 1) select Classical > Response Surface Design 2) add 3 factors > Continue3) Here I don't know if I should select "Central Composite Design" or "CDD-orthogonal Blocks" as I need to add one blocking factors with 2 levels however the CDD does not allow me to a...

  • ANOVA vs. GLM for ecological field experiment

I am analyzing data from an ecological field experiment, designed to test the effects of herbivore (limpet) removal and moisture addition on change in cover of a rocky intertidal seaweed. The experimental design is a randomized block, two-factor full-factorial design. I have attached a document that details the experimental design and lists the scripts and model outputs relating to three questions...

  • DoE: Box-Benhken or Face Centered Central Composite design ?

Hey JMP users,  Here we want to compare the use of Box-Behnken or Face Centered Central Composite design (both with 3 levels for each factor). - For 3 factors, the Box-Behnken design (BBD) offers the advantage in requiring a fewer number of runs. For 4 or more factors, this advantage disappears.- the BBD contains regions of poor prediction quality. Its "missing corners" may be useful when the expe...

  • Use of Real instead of target factor values in DoE

Hey Jmp users, I have one question regarding DoE. I have heard that it is better to use real instead of target values in DoE,  but I still didn't understand how jmp can recognize the particular applied design. Some values might be far away from the target and if you have a small experimental domain, it will not be that easy to differentiate the matrix levels.  Any clarification ?  Thanks a lot!I

  • find duration from a table of dates

#i have this attached table where the dates are submitted at the end of 12 different production steps (here column 1 to column 12). each row represent a unique production object. so i have 27 prod objects, each going through 12 prod steps; and hence have 12 prod dates. #I need to find the following: the duration required for the prod object to go from step1 or some other step to last completed ste...

  • Which alias terms to include in fit model

Good Day I have performed a main effects screening design experiment to determine which of my factors have the most significant effect on the mechanical properties of a material. My factors were: L -> 5 level discrete numericR -> 2 level categoricalS -> 2 level categoricalT -> 2 level categorical I used the default number of runs and added one replicate run as this was suggested by a colleague and...

  • How to reset view of diagram after zooming in?

How do I reset the diagram to original size after zooming in on a chart or dendogram? I realised there is no button to reset the view of the diagram to the original size after zooming in. This is very annoying because using the Ctrl button + mouse scroll to zoom out usually does not reset the diagram to the original size. The diagram gets skewed and distorted as a result and I have to run the whol...

  • Sub-sampling data analysis in JMP

In Biology (Plant Sci. and Agriculture) usually we have sub-sampling data for replicates. It's very difficult to analyze these data in commonly use Stat S/W (SPSS/Minitab) because MSS(Error) is calculating wrongly.  Without taking averages of samsamples, the easiest S/W for this is using JMP and I need some assistance for this. I've found very useful Youtube video about subsampling in JMP  (CRD: S...
