  • blocking in jmp

hi, i have a question about blocking in DoE. should we always follow the blocking option that JMP suggest with each design?? or can we do it our way?? for example. i am looking to do Box-Behenken design which has no blocking option at all but i was thinking of (doing all 13 run) in one day as the experiment is very short. then reopeat this over three to five dys and use day as a block were the in ...

  • Evaluate performance linear fit VS log fit

Hi all,   I was wondering if you have any suggestions on how to evaluate the performance of a linear model and log model (i.e. only response logarithmic transformed). I am trying to evaluate which model is better in terms of predictability and accuracy. My first guess was to compare R-squared values and RMSE values, however I seems that two models have different units and therefore cannot be direc...

  • How to Exclude Random Missing point before performing PCA.

Hi,   How to exclude missing values from the dataset before analysis. These are random missing values due to instrument malfunction. I don't want to impute my data. I have explored the 'Explore Missing Value' but that didn't help because that changes the interpretation of my PCA results.   Is there any other way to do so?   Thank you, Beginner_9

  • Log RMSE to linear RMSE

Hi all,   I am trying to compare the RMSE values of a linear fit and log fit model. However, to my understanding the RMSE for the linear fit is in the same units as the response (for instance MPG), but the log fit has log MPG as unit. Is there a possibility within JMP that allows the calculation of RMSE in the original scale?   Kind regards, Janneman

  • Simulate vs Bootstrap methods in JMP: which to use when and why

Hi All,   I'm hoping someone from JMP might be able to provide an explanation as the the differences/similarities of the Simulate vs Bootstrap approaches when evaluating model estimates. (JMP Pro)   Some links to previous Discovery Summit presentations from Gotwalt and others can be found here, here, and here. One clear difference between the methods is that Simulate requires you to swap out a col...

  • Mediation analysis with survival data

Hello!    I was wondering how you can build a mediation analysis with survival data in JMP Pro 18. I am attempting to use SEM to test if my X (continuous) variable mediates the relationship between Treatment (binary) and abstience duration since post-treatment (survival variable).    Thank you in advance.

  • Survival analysis with continous variables

Hello!   I want to identify potential covariates that may influence my survival data (continuous abstinence). Most of my potential covariates are continuous variables. I am unsure how to run this analysis with continuous variables instead of grouping variables. Any suggestions or tips would be helpful!   Thank you!

  • permutation test for PLS-DA

Hi all!  I've run a PLS-DA test for a data set that consists of FTIR spectral data of 5 different systems under 5 different treatments. I've used the fit model platform so that I could handle categorical variables in my Y variables. According to PRESS statistics, this model has an optimum number of factors of 7 and possesses good discriminating power between my samples. Then, I noticed that the st...

  • Rows inclusion in PCA

Hello,   I am running a PCA on an NMR dataset that contains some missing values. This isn't due to an error—it's simply the nature of the data, as some samples do not show certain peaks.  I have noticed that when I include these parameters Y variables in the PCA and color the score plot by sample, some samples are missing entirely from the plot. It's not consistent—some samples with missing values...

  • Testing slices in JMP Pro Mixed Model?

Hello, I am doing a 4-way, full factorial ANOVA with one repeated measures factor (time, 3 samplings) and three between-subject factors (species, color, and irrigation; 2 levels of each) using the Mixed Model personality in JMP Pro 18.1.0. I'm using the AR(1) repeated covariance structure, as it provides the best fit based on AICc values. The analysis indicates I have no significant 4- or 3-way in...
