There seems to be a need for having more flexibility with column names to make them compatible with the variable names in reports and publications. I didn't find the topcs in the wish list, so I link them to this proposal. super/subscripts greek letters

I realize that there is a workaround for doing a Friedman's test, but it is certainly not a big ask to have it in the program. This is especially true if using it for teaching .

When I drop a parameter in the "Page" section of the Graph Builder several plots are generated on top of each other. It would be great if I can change the layout so I get more plots per row. I see there is such option in Distribution platform "Arrange in Rows". Note that Wrap in Graph builder is not helpful if you need to have plots with different scales.

The DIM() and N Rows() functions work on both data tables and matrices, but it is not listed under the collection of Matrix functions in the Scripting Index (but N Cols() is listed there). It would be good if all the matrix dimension tools are listed under the Matrix collection of functions.

I would like JMP standard to have all of the options JMP pro has ... however, those options are grayed out and have a little 'pro' icon or something. It would make it SO much easier to discern between colleagues, webinars, presenations, etc what I can do with standard or what I can't. Moreover, it's a very obvious way to show people who use Standard what they are missing in JMP Pro!

In the RBD platform, there is a curve that is shown as the resulting distribution from the blocks that are entered. There is no way to get this curve, or an approximation of this curve, or even input different times to get the probabilities, except typing them manually, one by one. The results in this platform seem to be a series of profilers, but it would be nice to get the resulting distribution, even if it's just a table of times and probabilities. A similar issue is in the Repairable Systems Simulation (RSS) platform, where no resulting model is available as an output. This platform at least gives the output of events, so a distribution can be built from the event times.

I would like propose an update so that a preference (or some other method) is in place for how outline boxes, especially the default one, are handled during copy / paste operations - for graph builder, specifically (although it could be merged into other platforms). This preference would allow the user to control whether or not the default outline box was copied / pasted when the user selects it for copying. In JMP 15, an feature was implemented which automatically removes the outline box from the image when copying / pasting from Graph Builder. This feature removes the need to manually select each graph with the control key to copy / paste when the titles are effectively part of the graph builder output. Additionally, JMP implemented it so that editing the outline box would force keep it when copying / pasting so user adjustments were maintained. However, if a user wants to keep the outline box(es) it is just as annoying to change each title so it is maintained as it is to manually control click each graph to avoid copying the outline box. A preference would allow users to control their destiny and be the best of both worlds.

It would be great if there was an option of minimum term frequency in the wordcloud, so that there is as less noise as possible. Furthermore, I would like to be able to have a legend on the wordcloud based on term frequency (and not based on a column of the dataset I am analyzing).

Hi there, recently I had the task to import data contained in tables within pdf documents, which realy works nice with the new import-feature for pdf's in JMP15. As these documents are generated by an instrument upon exporting the raw data, it would be far more efficient if this import feature for pdf's would be integrated in the "Multiple file Import..." feature. Is this possible? I hope it will be in near future ;) Best Regards Egon Gross

I'd like it if examples in the scripting index could be named. For instance open() has 5 examples and I always forget which one is the one for excel. It'd be great if it worked for New Custom Function() << Example as well. And if we had a way to have custom classes be shown with their methods broken out.

It would be nice to have a method of setting the position of a Modal Window. Currently, window position must be set after creating the window. But since a Modal window halts all processing, the command to reposition the window is not seen until after the window is closed. I envision something like this: w = New Window("My Window", << Modal, << Position(100, 100), Text Box("I'm a window!") ); Credit to In JSL, can I tell a modal window where to be?

Hello I want to automate entring numbers in a window manually or by a barcode scanner and create a certain flow for inputs. The idea would be to enter the next object as a parameter like: teb = text edit box("example",set width(160),set nlines(1),<<setscript(my_expr),<<nextObj(XYZ)) or by the command <<setfocus() for MouseBox This would make it possible to design a flow through the boxes and re-focus on the box itself when a series of inputs are needed (like the << restore focus after click(1) for ButtonBox).

More RDMSs have native support for JSON within database columns, but JMP simply treats these as strings. It would be helpful if JMP’s existing support for JSON within files was enhanced to also better parse JSON within database columns from the UI (without relying on JSL).

Currently, when copying and pasting column properties to another column, using either the Copy/Paste Column Properties or Copy/Paste Multi Column Properties, the data format of the selected column(s) isn't carried forward, nor is the column name. I often copy several date/time columns from one data table to another and it would be great if the column name was copied along with the original column(s) data format, even if it created a duplicate variable name.

I'm loving new custom function in JMP 14. It's real useful. There are some things I'd like to see added to it. Parameter and Result Type, currently only allow "Any, Name, Number, String, List, Matrix, RowState". I'd love it if it could be any existing data type, data table, Expression, function(for wrappers), class(for custructors), associative array,

In Graph Builder the axes can be scaled as linear, log, power, probability, etc. (which is great, BTW!) Can you add the option to scale as "inverse," that is, 1/x or 1/Y? I tried using power and setting the parameter to -1 but this doesn't appear to work. No scripting please.

I would like to see the Row State column to have multiple row state settings available at the same time. Such that Platforms that are run against the data table would be allowed to select which row state copy it should use. Use Cases Open the Big Class data table, run twice Bivariate using height by weight. Color the data points in one chart based upon row state colors based on Sex, and the colors in the second Bivariate based upon the second row state settings where the colors are based upon age. Open multiple platforms. Set different platforms to different row state versions. Change the selections in a particular platform changes the display in only the platforms that have been set to use the same row state version. Open the Subset platform, and select which row state version to use for the selection of the rows to be copied to the new data table. The Link To Original needs to honor which row state version is associated to the selection when the subset was created.

Stuck on a train tonight with some .dta (Stata) files but without Stata on my laptop. No problem I thought - will just import into jmp but seems that isn't currently possible even though you provide support for SPSS, R and SAS (obvs). Train ride seems even longer because of this lack.... :(

When using Column Switcher in Graph Builder, it is common to switch between many measured variables that have completely different value ranges. A color scale that is meaningful for one column is often useless for another column. Currently, color scale settings appear to be shared across switched columns, which frequently results in misleading visualizations and requires manual adjustment after every switch. What is the improvement you would like to see? Please support meaningful per-column color scaling when using Column Switcher. Preferred solution: Column Properties for Color Scales Allow columns to store preferred color scale settings, similar to existing axis-related properties. Robust Automatic Scaling Add a robust range option based on: Median ± N × MAD This would provide useful color scales without being dominated by a few extreme outliers. Column-Specific Column Switcher Settings Allow Column Switcher to remember color scale settings separately for each switched column. For example, each column could retain its own Min, Max, Range Type, and legend settings. Why is this idea important? Column Switcher is intended to simplify exploration of many different variables. However, users currently spend unnecessary time correcting color scales whenever variables have different distributions. Supporting column-specific color scaling would: Reduce manual report maintenance. Improve interpretation of heat maps and wafer maps. Prevent misleading visualizations caused by inappropriate ranges. Make reports more reusable across different data sets. Create behavior that users naturally expect when switching between columns with different measurement scales. make JMP feel like JMP already feels at many other places: smooth, helpful, no workarounds needed. The result would be more meaningful visualizations, better workflows, and fewer situations where the current behavior feels like a bug. other wishes
