Current JMP update does not handle data changes, only data additions.
What is the improvement you would like to see?
Rather than just appending data, fix the UPDATE so that it does a full refresh of the data including deletions, changes and additions.
Why is this idea important?
Often SCRIPTS for analysis (e.g. Graphs in a JMP Project) are often saved to the data table. When you want to do the same analysis on a "refreshed" dataset you must use the same table or recreate all of that work. There is a work around that a JMP Tech. Service individual provided. The request is to make this functionality part of JMP rather than having to create another script. Here are notes on the work around:
