overview
The JMP Help menu has been reorganized in JMP 18. This change is part of an effort to simplify and reorganize the menus to help new users get started quickly with JMP.
What's changed
- Menu options have been reordered to follow a more logical flow, making it easier for new users to find, select documentation, and get help.
- Search JMP is now the first option in the Help menu.
- Although it is a menu option that provides equivalent content, JMP Help has been renamed to JMP Online Help.
- Documentation PDF files are no longer included with JMP. You can install these PDF files by downloading the Japanese Documentation add-in from the JMP Marketplace or by visiting JMP Manuals .
- The ? Help Tool has been added to the Help menu and is also available from the Tools menu.
- The Tutorials have been discontinued. To find resources to get started with JMP, please visit Learn JMP .
- How-To Tips has been renamed to Quick Start. Quick Start provides nine tips for new users to help them get started quickly with JMP.
- The JMP Web menu option has been removed. This change places all menu options at the same level, and at a glance shows the available menu options. The available links are JMP Features , Learn JMP , JMP User Community , and What's New in JMP . JMP Features helps you learn what JMP can do by directing you to information about the various product components, including data preprocessing, analysis, and graphing. What's New in JMP replaces the previous What's New document in JMP, which provides an overview of the new features in each version.
- The Statistics Index has been discontinued.
- The Index of Examples has a revamped window that provides easier access to example scripts, sample data, and other examples.
- A link to "My JMP" has been added for downloading JMP software, licenses, etc.
What hasn't changed?
- You can still access information through JMP Online Help and (with the JMP Marketplace add-in) through documentation PDF files.
- The Sample Data Folder and Script Index continue to provide access to a variety of resources and information.
