Help Menu reorganized in JMP® 18

Summary

The JMP Help menus are reorganized in JMP 18. The changes are part of an initiative to simplify and reorganize the menus, making it easier for new users to quickly get up and running in JMP.

What's Changing

  • The order of menu options has been reorganized into a more logical flow to make finding and selecting documentation and getting help easier for new users.
  • Search JMP is now the first option in the Help menu.
  • The JMP Help option has been renamed to JMP Online Help but provides the same information.
  • The Documentation PDFs no longer ship with JMP. They can be installed using the Documentation Add-in, and they are available on the JMP Documentation page.
  • The ? Help Tool has been added to the Help menu. It is still available in the Tools menu as well.
  • The Tutorials are retired. You can now use Learn JMP to find resources for getting started with JMP.
  • The Tip of the Day is renamed Quick Start. The Quick Start provides nine tips for new users. The purpose is to get new users started using JMP quickly. Additional tips, which are currently being referred to as Working Smarter in JMP, are also available to provide tips and tricks.
  • JMP on the Web options are no longer in a submenu. All menu options are now at the same level, so you can see everything available. The available links have been updated to include JMP Capabilities, Learn JMP, JMP User Community, and New in JMP. JMP Capabilities will help you learn what JMP can do by pointing you to information on various product components, including data preparation, analysis, and graphing. New in JMP replaces the New Features document and provides an overview of the new features in each release.
  • The Statistics Index is retired.
  • The Sample Index has a new, modern look but still provides access to great sample scripts, sample data, and other examples.
  • A link to My JMP has been added where you can access your software, download JMP licenses, and more.

What's Not Changing

  • You can still access the same great information using the JMP Online Help and the Documentation PDFs.
  • The Sample Data Folder and Scripting Index are the same and still provide access to valuable resources and information.
