Just wondering if anyone has a way of calculating IRR with actual dates as in XIRR in excell:

Solution

Although there is not a specific function for XIRR and XNPV. You could try creating the algorithm Microsoft describes and create it in JSL.

The algorithm that Excel’s XIRR page explains should be suffice to write a JSL. Hint: use Minimize.

- Tries to find the solution for x^3+2*x^2-x+1 = 0 x = -4;minFun = minimize ( (x^3+2*x^2-x+1)^2, {x});sol = Eval List( {x, minFun} );solx = sol[1];show(solx^3+2*solx^2-solx+1)

Additionally, JMP Technical Support has submitted an feature request to add the Excel functions to JSL for a future release of JMP.
