UTM to decimal Degree conversion of Coordinates

Hello,

are there any JMP/JSL scripts around to transform UTM to decimal degree coordinates?

Could only find the wishlist entry.

Thank you

Re: UTM to decimal Degree conversion of Coordinates

Hi @mlo1 ,

How would you prefer the conversion to work?

A column dialog box to identify the various UTM variable names

UTM column selection dialogUTM column selection dialog

and then an output table with latitude and longitude coordinates

UTM to latitude and longitude coordinatesUTM to latitude and longitude coordinates

Would you need to go in the other direction? What Geodatum's would need to be supported? WGS84?

cheers,

Stan

Re: UTM to decimal Degree conversion of Coordinates

Hello Stan,

Accidentially I pressed the solved button.

I am not an expert on Geo data and still with JMP17.2 in case there are changes in JMP18
I am just using it from time to time for visualisation of election data.

While the federal goverment is providing the election districts in decimal degree it is easy to get the maps in JMP.

The states are using different geo data format as shown e.g. for Hessen and Bavaria in the attached picture.

May be the *.prj Information can be used for convertion into decimal degree which is used by JMP.

I attached the three different map data.

Best regards

Mirko
