Mixing speed factor type

Hi,
I am going to make a DOE and one of the factors there is mixing speed. The speeds i would like to check are 2,5 and 7 m/s. Should i choose it as categorical factor or continues (but 5 is not exactly the mid point)
Please advise
Thanks

Re: Mixing speed factor type

Hi @YanivD,

It depends how "easy/practical" it is to change your mixing speed.

  • If the speed mixing can take any value between 2,5 and 7 m/s, then this factor may be set as a continuous factor.
  • If you can change it, but only by "increment", I would recommend to set this factor as a discrete numeric factor and specify the number of levels (and values) you would like to investigate.

Hope this will help you,
