Could Someone Guide Me on The Advanced Data Visualization Techniques?

As a new member please forgive me and provide kind assistance if I have posted to the wrong subsection.

I am working on a project that involves analyzing complex datasets and presenting the findings in a clear and insightful manner.

I have been using JMP for a while now and am familiar with its basic features for data visualization.

However, I am eager to learn more about advanced data visualization techniques that can help me convey the nuances of my data effectively. I am particularly interested in techniques such as interactive visualizations, animated graphs, and 3D plots.

Could you please recommend any resources, tutorials, or JMP add-ins that could help me enhance my data visualization skills? Additionally, if you have any tips or best practices for creating visually appealing and informative graphs in JMP, I would greatly appreciate your insights.

There are many excellent references - too many to list.  I would recommend starting with Edward Tufte's work, although there are many many others (e.g., Stephen Few, Nathan Yau, Kaiser Fung, and myriad others).  There are also many good consulting firms with good examples and instructions on their websites.  However, I would encourage you to think carefully about interactive charts - they can work well in live presentations, but often backfire in static documents (electronic or paper).  For example, bubble charts (which JMP does very well) rarely convey information effectively in a static chart.  Also, very sophisticated visualizations may not be as effective communicating information as several simpler graphs.  When too many variables are displayed in a single chart, the message is often lost - and easily recovered if separated into more than a single graph.  I also find 3D visualizations rarely work (except perhaps for physical measurements that are naturally in 3 dimensions).

Visualization software often contains recommended graph types (e.g., Tableau), but I have never found these useful.  I find there are few rules regarding the appropriate displays - they always depend on the question of interest, the audience, and the data.  Trial and error is my preferred technique for displaying data.

I can only add one thought to @dlehman1 excellent ideas...whenever I was creating effective (I like that word much more than 'advanced') data visualizations I had one principle in mind. "If it does not add, it subtracts." All too often I've seen presentations where the presenter is more focused on showing off their prowess with software or PowerPoint and not on communicating a clear and succinct message that informs or helps the audience make a decision,
