  • Display group median in variability charts

    Hi all,

I want to diplay a group median line in a variability chart. This platform has an option to display group mean, grand mean and grand median but not group median.

    Thanks

  • Question on doing % of total by row or by column

We have some analysts and researchers using JMP 8.0 after using SPSS. There are past reports done in SPSS and we are hoping to mirror similar output using the tabulate function. Being new users I thought this would be posted.

The % of total is a great function but seems tricky in trying to do a percent by each row or column even though the help menus state it is quite possible.

    Do you have any sug...

  • Scripting: How to get a Name object from a quoted string?

Assume I have the name of a table variable as a quoted string in a run-time variable. How do I get the table variable Name object from that?

I had this same issue with table columns which I was able to work around by getting a list of table Column Names and iterating through them until I found a Name object that matched the string. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a function that returns ...

  • Random Parameters in Profiler?

I am evaluating JMP (currently V. 7, but my company is in the upgrade process) and I am particularly interested in figuring out how to use the Profiler for some of my frequent activities. Can anyone help with the following?

I would like to simulate a function F(x, theta(i)) over a range of x values. Theta(i) is a set of parameters drawn from a multivariate-normal distribution for each individual ...

  • Cumulative Summation by Group

I am trying to do a Cumulative Summation by a group value in another column, and so far nothing I have tried (For, While, double Summation) has worked. I can do a cumulative sum for the entire table with:

    Summation( ::i = 1, Row(), :Total WIP[::i, Empty()] )

However, I need to do a separate cumulative sum for each "segment" I have in another column (i.e. I need a cumulative sum where :seg==1, and ...

  • Overlay normal quantile plots without long string labels

    Hello,

I am a longtime user of JMP7. To make overlay normal quantile plots I use Fit Y by X, where Y is the continual variable like Height and X is a categorical variable like Gender. Using Right-click/Legend gives a nice color coded legend for the curves, but JMP also tries to label each curve way up at the top (upper quantile) end of the curve. Invariably these are ugly and overlap each other. ...
