  • Column name from string

Hi everyone,I am working on a script that I would like to use a string as a column name, and use that column name in a formula, see below:dt = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Cities.jmp" ); //example column dt << New Column("klaatu barada nikto", formula(3)); //suppose we don't know what exactly will be in 'a' as it is controlled by a for loop etc. a = Concat Items( {"klaatu", "barada", "nikto"}, " " ); //ca...

  • Sorting list of lists

JMP12How to sort a list of lists by one list in the list of lists? For example I want to sort by the numeric part of this list. I know I could iterate or make a table to sort this way, but is there a one-liner I don't know of? I feel like there must be an easier way to do it. list = {{"a", "b", "c", "d"}, {2, 3, 4, 1}};a,2b,3c,4d,1 (list[1] and list[2] sorted by list[2]){{"d", "a", "b", "c"}, {1, 2...

  • How can I calculate control limits for a parameter that is consistently increasing?

I'm trying to establish control limits in a parameter that is consistently increasing.  I can do it in Excel with a running average calculation, but I haven't yet found a way to do this in JMP.  If anyone has found a way to do this, that would be greatly appreciated! -Mike

  • Missing/Absent Data Treatment on JMP - Two-way ANOVA

Hi there. I am a new user of JMP version 16.0. I am using student scores to analyze the prediction scores. I am utilizing the Fit-to-Model. There are data where students are absent during the test. Thus, I leave the score as a character such as 'ABS', set as numeric - continuous at the column setting. I develop a linear model to analyze the prediction and the results are successfully be calculated...

  • How to Get specific input values from subset data table to be placed correctly in a JMP script to save to original data table?

Hi,  I am not sure what is wrong with my script. It is supposed to take the user input values of PQA (a categorical variable) and produce output scripts that contain customized One-way results for each PQA, using a subset data set to get the information needed to read into the scripts that are saved to the original data table. For example, when I run the following JMP code on the toy Data table wi...

  • Validate column values (make sure all values in column follow a specific pattern)

Is there a better way rather than iteration of all the rows to validate values in column? Let's say before making something with the column I want to make sure that all values in column match specific Regex. Like so:!IsMissing(Regex(Column(myColumn)[1], "^\w+(\d{3})\w+$", "\1"))I can iterate through each row to make sure that all of them match, but maybe there is a better way?
