  • DOE change factors

Is there any difference between Hard and Very Hard in the way JMP sets up the DOE? I know that there is a difference between Easy and Hard, but I cannot locate anything on the Very Hard setting.

    Thanks

  • Calculating Quantiles for a newbie

To be honest I have never taken a statistics class and for the most part fail at math. I have a set of data that represents cycle time for several stages of an order and I was asked to find the weighted average which wasn't really a problem and I was able to do this inside of SQL. Then I wass told that it was great but they also wanted 80th and 95th percentiles for the orders. After looking confus...

  • Combination Line Chart and Bar Chart?

Is there a way in JMP to create a graph that combines a line chart with a bar chart? I was not able to create one using regular menus.

This is pretty easy to do in Excel, btw.

    Thanks,
    Peter

  • Distribution choices

If the best-fit distribution is not the one you want to use, can you use the differences in the AICc or -2*loglikelihood values to justify the selection? If not, how could that be accomplished?

  • Question on doing % of total by row or by column

We have some analysts and researchers using JMP 8.0 after using SPSS. There are past reports done in SPSS and we are hoping to mirror similar output using the tabulate function. Being new users I thought this would be posted.

The % of total is a great function but seems tricky in trying to do a percent by each row or column even though the help menus state it is quite possible.

    Do you have any sug...

    Hi,

I'm trying to learn JMP and the scripting language and to give myself some homework. I thot it might be interesting to download some data. So I have chosen Yahoo finance stock data so I keep up with my stocks.

The first challenge is to get the data. I've found the following url that gives me what I want (the next step will be to iterate over a series of stocks that i am interested in - more l...

  • Random Parameters in Profiler?

I am evaluating JMP (currently V. 7, but my company is in the upgrade process) and I am particularly interested in figuring out how to use the Profiler for some of my frequent activities. Can anyone help with the following?

I would like to simulate a function F(x, theta(i)) over a range of x values. Theta(i) is a set of parameters drawn from a multivariate-normal distribution for each individual ...

  • Overlay normal quantile plots without long string labels

    Hello,

I am a longtime user of JMP7. To make overlay normal quantile plots I use Fit Y by X, where Y is the continual variable like Height and X is a categorical variable like Gender. Using Right-click/Legend gives a nice color coded legend for the curves, but JMP also tries to label each curve way up at the top (upper quantile) end of the curve. Invariably these are ugly and overlap each other. ...
