  • How to consider multiple rows for a given Participant ID

    This is a pretty elementary question, but how should one go about analysis of a large human clinical research data set with multiple rows for a given participant? Lets say there are columns titled "ParticipantID", "Visit", and "HasBeard" each containing categorical data. For each ParticipantID (i.e. 001; 002; 003) there are multiple study Visits (i.e. V1; V2; V3 etc) with each Visit containing uni...

  • list box widget not working as expected.

    Here is a simple snippet which pops up a list box and when an item is selected it should simply return the item to the log window. In reality I have a function which will do something with the returned item.  However, in JMP 15 it always return the item twice which is odd behavior. Maybe this is an unintended use case and I need to use this widget another way.  myListBox = listBox({"A", "B", "C"},...

  • How to keep all charaters before a period?

    Hi all, This is a simple question I am sure...but I have a column filled with file names "xfsfds.csv" and "sdfdgdfg.csv" What if I want to just keep the names in the column, and get rid of all the ".csv" at the end? Thanks!

  • Display box that can both input column name and numeric value

    Is there a display box that can take both column name and numeric value ? I'm trying to create a window where users can either select a column from column list (like a col list box) or insert a constant value (like a number edit box).

  • Genetic Algorithms, Simulated Annealing, etc. for Optimizing QSAR Regression Equations

    I am interested in creating regression equations for QSAR-related problems.  The general idea is to find a linear regression equation from a pool of many (>200) independent variables or descriptors to predict one dependent variable.  Typically, the number of rows/observations is small (n=50 at a minimum). There are ways to do this using Generalized Regression in JMP.  While the penalized regressio...

  • ANOM for Variances : What is this RMSE refering to ?

    RMSE is refering ??
    How exactly RMSE is being calculated ? RMSE = Sqrt [ Sum of Square (Predicted - Actual ) / N ] If above formula , then what is predicted &  square?
    ==> predicted is variance of each group ?
    ==> actual overall variance ?
