  • Stepwise model question

Hello, Using Arrhythmia.jmp in sample data library. Let's just say I want to predict a persons Height, for example. For predictors, I select 15 other numeric continuous columns. For this question it doesn't seem to matter.  In Models, after selecting a Y variable(s) and construct model effects (predictors), I tend to see these numbers behind predictors. For example: Weight-71.7206. For other predi...

  • Cannot initiate "Fit Yby X" from new data table

I'm a casual user of JMP (far from an expert), and newly upgraded to JMP 17. If I create a new data table and enter in the first two columns, I cannot then complete a "Fit Y by X" analysis. The dialog window opens, but I am unable to highlight and drag either column into the "X" or "Y" fields. Some other notes or observations on the process include:The data is continuous numerical, with column nam...

  • How do I get side by side boxplots with two Y axis?

Hey, I am trying to get side-by-side Boxplots in the graph builder using a dual Y-axis with different scales. I managed to create the two axis and create the plots, but they overlay each other. I would like them to be next to each other. I am using jmp 16. Would appreciate any help given, Itai

  • Table / Update - source script collision

When I update a table via Table/Update (or via Table /Join with the option "update main table ..." enabled) . the JSL code of the Update (or Join) function is saved as Source Script to the main table. In principle, this could be a cool feature - but unfortunately, this feature overwrites an existing source script without warning. Is there an option to force Jmp to automatically rename such auto-add...

  • Are JMP certifications gone?

I was looking at the certifications for JMP and they have been removed from the website. Is this a typo?

  • Evaluating DoE with (essentially) Run Order as a factor

Hi, I have a relatively simple design that I'm not sure how to evaluate in JMP.
We're trying to find an I-Optimal design for two factors.  One (X1), is a continuous factor with 2 levels and center points. The second (X2) is essentially just the run order times 4. The order of this variable cannot change.  We know that X2 leads to changes in our response and want to properly model it's impact and in...

  • DOE with Three 2 level factors and One 3 level factor that needs blocking

Hello, I am trying to to design a DOE with the following factors:X1   -1   +1X2   -1   +1X3   -1   +1X4   L1   L2   L3 Due to experimental logistics, X4 cannot be changed easily; it requires an entire day to change. The other factors can be changed easily during each experiment. I was thinking of just doing a full factorial DOE design with X1, X2, and X3; and then repeating that same design for ea...

  • Data puzzles via Hanukkah of Data is underway

If you're looking for some data wrangling puzzles, the Hanukkah of Data series of daily puzzles is underway at https://hanukkah.bluebird.sh/5783/. They're on day 2 of 8 now. As far as I can tell, you can do them whenever and there's no competitive part. I'm doing them in JMP, of course!

  • Slope and Intercept Collector error "matrix must be non-singular in access or evaluation of 'Inv' , Inv/*###*/(x` * x)"

HI all,I have a question about an error I'm getting when using @stan_koprowski's slope and intercept add-in. I've posted my question on the add-in's thread but due to the much lower exposure compared to discussion posts, I thought that it might be a good idea to ask here as well. I made a mock data table with three groups and several observations in each group. When I run the add-in I am getting t...

  • C Stack Usage Error When Sending Code to R

Hello, I'm trying to invoke some commands in R using the R Submit function in JSL and am getting the error below. Is this an issue with JMP17 and R integration? It only happens when I invoke a specific package using JSL so it's hard for others to replicate w/o installing R and the package as well. I'm using JMP 17.0 and R 4.2.0. Never saw this error with JMP 16. "Error: C stack usage 4123778 is to...

  • How to fix X Axis Settings for Operating Characteristic Curves

I'm playing around with different scenarios on an Operating Characteristic curve in which the fraction defective is very small (screen shot below).  Every time I run a scenario, the x-axis automatically changes to a range that is way too wide to be useful and I have to change it back manually. Is there a way to make the x-axis setting constant? (I'm using Jmp Pro 16.1)Thanks!
