  • JMP Stability Test Reports

I am new to using the Stability Analysis function (under Reliability and Survival –> Degradation –> Stability Test) in JMP (ver. 14), and I have some general questions about this tool.   Apologies in advance for the rather wide-open “please help” questions.  Q1: Is this function appropriate to use for on-going monitoring of stability lots, where different lots will be at different timepoints? Or d...

  • Handling maintenance schedules in repairable systems simulation (RSS)

Hi all, I didn't find a particular topic that addressed this so I was hoping to get some help from some of you folks that use RSS. Basically there's two things I'm trying to do in the simulation engine to account for real-life response for maintenance cycles:1) If I have two parallel components, both of which have failures and scheduled items, I would like to be able to suspend the scheduled item ...

  • How to calculate Best Linear Unbiased Estimator (BLUEs) from Fit Model in JMP

I have an experiment with several different plant genotypes replicated across blocks. I fit a model where y = some plant trait and where the model effects are Block and Genotype.  I want to calculate the BLUEs for the trait values of each genotype, giving an adjusted mean trait value for each genotype after accounting for the effect of Block.  My intuition is that the BLUEs will be the Least Squar...

  • Terms in parameter estimates for two-way interactions of coded factors are being given as e.g. (EtOH + 0.1)*(n-PrOH-0.1)

I'm trying to work through an example out of Goos and Jones (Ch 3), where they've set up a DoE screen and model of select two-way ineractions. All factors except "Block" are continuous, and the factors are coded as -1 and +1 for the two levels tested. When fitting the model, I'm confused that the Parameter Estimates pulldown gives each interaction term not as e.g. EtOH*n-PrOH, but rather as (EtOH ...

  • Exclude rows option also hides rows from analysis in Fit Model, Life Distribution and Fit Life by X platforms

Hi All,I am trying to Exclude rows from analysis in Fit Model, Life Distribution and Fit Life by X platforms. In all platforms mentioned above excluded row are also appear to be hidden in graphs, while in table these rows are only excluded. Question: Why excluded rows are also become hidden in Fit Model, Life Distribution and Fit Life by X platforms? For more details see screenshots below and attac...

  • Code Folding is catching too many lines

I have set "if" blocks to be foldable,  and I have been using them like this    If (1==1, // comment abc    <foldable code block 1 > ); If (1==1, // comment xyz    <foldable code block 2 > );   But often, the first block will catch later blocks and fold them all together.   The code work without a problem, but is is sometimes hard to find the code, it is lost in the folds. Is there a solution to t...

  • Right Censoring data for ANOVA

Hello, I am trying to carry out ANOVA on some data from correlation experiments I am currently running across 3 different oven chambers. It is a reliability test with each unit having a time-to-fail. For the below plot, I have circled 32 data points in red which have not failed yet. For my Fit Life by X analysis, I have right censored these units as they have not yet failed but I'm wondering is th...
