  • DOE Question - Too Few Degrees of Freedom

I am very new to the JMP community - just got my account up and running the other day.  I am running an experiment and I wish to see the effects of the main factors and all two-level interactions. I am using an L27 Taguchi array to account for four 3-level factors with three responses per row/per trial. I left some columns blank to make room for the two-level interactions. However, what I don't un...

  • Question about specific factor combination in screening DoE (e.g. DSD)

Dear community, I do a lot of protein buffer formulation screens with DoE and one important parameter is the buffer molecule (e.g. Phosphate, Tris, etc.) and its specific pH range. Is there any possible design were I can test several buffer molecules in their pH range (e.g Histidin between pH 5.5 to pH 7 and Tris between pH 5 to pH 9) in one design experiment? The problem which I have is, that I ca...

  • Questions regarding Response Surface Methodology (Box-Behnken design matrix)

Good morning,  I am currently trying to optimize some enzymatic reactions using Response Surface Methodology, in concrete, Box-Behnken design matrix. Using the program, you choose your independent variables or factors (pH, temperature, enzyme load, etc) and assign a "low" and "high" value to each. The program then automatically calculates the "middle" value.  My first question is if it is possible...

  • How do I Use Boolean Logic on Continuous Factor to Create a DoE

Hello. Thank you in advance for your time to consider this problem. I am trying to create a DoE with 2 continuous factors and a 2-Level discrete numeric factor.I want to create a DoE in which if the discrete numeric factor value is 1, only range of values from the 1st continuous factor is experimented. And, if the discrete numeric factor value is 2, only range of values from the 2nd continuous fac...

  • JMP DoE analysis with repeated run in either block

Hello I have a question in relation to DoE analysis in JMP. Lets say, in one of the blocks, one run did not go well and it is repeated in the second block. Could anyone provide any potential pointers in this scenario how to adjust the entire run for the further DoE analysis? Which block parking the repeated run would make more sense for DoE analysis in JMP and what would be pro and cons if its is ...

  • DoE with two-choice experiments, continuous response variable

We want to rank the preference  of population of animals for n different recipes. Recipes are tested in two-choice assays, where groups of over 100 individuals can choose one choice or the other. Preference for the group is computed as a preference index, a continuous variable that is between -1 and 1. Is there an experimental design that would help reduce the number of combinations to test in ord...

  • Sub-sampling data analysis in JMP

In Biology (Plant Sci. and Agriculture) usually we have sub-sampling data for replicates. It's very difficult to analyze these data in commonly use Stat S/W (SPSS/Minitab) because MSS(Error) is calculating wrongly.  Without taking averages of samsamples, the easiest S/W for this is using JMP and I need some assistance for this. I've found very useful Youtube video about subsampling in JMP  (CRD: S...
