  • Copy and Paste multiple column headers?

Hi Everyone! I'm new to JMP (v14 here), so I apologize if this has been asked before.  I'm attempting to concatenate some data files (csv) and multiple import is working fairly well... I will have duplicates to take care of as well as some column differences... I may end up with a powershell concatenate without worrying about this import in jmp, but I thought I'd try jmp first. In a few of the fil...

  • How to calculate moving averages for selected rows

Hello everyone! I am trying to write a script that will calculate moving averages using selected rows in a table.  To set the stage: I have a data table (example attached) with multiple executions (Unique ID) of a 3 stage process (A, B, C).  There is a reported value for each stage and these values are summed to give a Total value for each occasion.  I would like to have a column that reports a mo...

  • Why Scripts Group is lost when doing Table Subset?

Dear all, I frequently use table subset, often when having complex tasks with big data, I try the things I plan with a subset of  1/100 of rows etc. to be much faster for tests. During that I observed on my system (JMP 16.0, Windows10), that columns groups are kept, but script groups are lost. This makes no sense to my eyes, or is there any reason for this behaviour? If not, I would like to issue ...

  • Mean differences Student's t Table as Dunnett's differences table.

HI! :) At the Fit Model output window we can take the mean differences of an effect. We can choose among various methods such as  Student and Dunnett.  The following is the output of the dunnett methodwhere the format of the diffs is : Batch - Control but the confidence limits are not the same as in the students case:So what I would like is to take the second table. The results of the student's di...

  • Not sure how to use "Weight" in "Analyze"

I want to do something really simple. For simplicity's sake, assume I have two groups, let's say with N=2,000 in group 1 and N=3,000 in group 2. I'd like to compute an overall mean of a variable Y that is collected for each group. Y's mean in group 1 is 4 and in group 2 is 8. The overall mean here would be the unweighted mean and not the weighted mean–it should be 6. I might have thought that I sh...

  • Is there a way to tell LCA that the rows are ordered by class?

Typical dataset: 120-200 rows, 15 classes. Rows are known to be ordered by class. What is unknown is where the 'fences' between classes are. As-is -- i.e., without taking row order into account -- LCA correctly classifies about 94% of rows. My intuition is that if I knew how to tell the algorithm that the rows are grouped by class on input, we'd be at 100%. Visual, in case my use of 'grouped by' i...

  • I would like to find another political scientist or other social scientist who has worked with mapping congressional districts and counties

There are great bodies of data presented by counties (disease incidence, education, income). There are other bodies of data presented by congressional districts (incumbents, vote percentages, etc.)  I want to find someone who has mapped the counties and the congressional districts into the same space.  I know this can be done with ESRI products, but  I wanted to avoid jumping off the JMP platform....

New in JMP17: via Configure Levels. Before JMP17, one could use Value Labels: ... and there is a nice shortcut to apply them very quickly:
    - click on a tick label and hold the mouse button for some while.-  the axis will change to edit mode- edit the label- press ESC

thanks @laura_archer for this trick & explanation :)
