  • Cox proportional hazards

Hi!I am very new to this forum and to JMP&statistics in general. I would appreciate if somebody could advise me on a following issue:I am analyzing whether certain factors (A, B, C etc - all of them are continuous variables) are predictors of a disease (X) incidence. I have 2 independent groups of patients (group 1 - healthy, and group 2 - those ended up with a disease). I need to adjust those fac...

  • sample size after reduced frequency

we are taking a sample of 136 parts from lots of 10,000 parts each .  the P chart is shown here under attached .    As can be seen the lot to lot variation is low .    Now we need to start reducing the frequency to a sample every 6 or 8 lots , what would be the sample size ?   Pass is 0 failure   fail is 1    Binomial    Carlo

  • Bug: Python print() to JMP Log ignores whitespace-only arguments

When using the Python console with output directed to the JMP Log, print() does not behave consistently with standard Python. Arguments consisting only of whitespace characters (spaces, tabs, newlines, etc.) appear to be discarded rather than printed. For example: print('a', 'b') # Output: ab; even the space as the default separator is ignored print('a', 'b', sep=' ') # Output: ab print('a', '...

  • Graph Builder does not save manual axis title change with brackets (JMP19)

Hi all, I encountered, the following problem in JMP19 that did not exist in the previous versions. We have a lot of columns with the unit in the column header in brackets. When I want to change the axis titel in Graph Builder manually to something other than the column header and save the script, the change is done to the graph title and not the axis title once I run the script. I tried some thing...

  • Is there a way to lock the Y-axis scale in Graph Builder and Process Screening (I-MR Charts)?

Hello JMP Community, I am looking for a way to lock the Y-axis scale in both Graph Builder and the I-MR charts generated by the Process Screening platform. My use case is the comparison of the same process characteristic across different products, groups, or filter selections. When the Y-axis rescales automatically after applying a data filter or changing the selection, it becomes difficult to vis...

  • Define vertical spacing in Legend within script

Hello, I have a Legend with 5 titles and two of them I used Level Name() with a line feed \!n, so that the Name is shorter and displayed in two rows. Unfortunately JMP is not giving more vertical space automatically between the Markers/Names, so that the text is overlapping, what is not looking perfect. Is there any chance to define the spacing between the lines in the JMP generated legend in a sc...

  • Using the SAS Variable Labels in Table Output

I built a Federal Reserve System exercise from the Sudrvey of Household Economic Decision Making data set--300 + variables and 11K cases.  The SAS (and STATA) varuable names represented in the codebook and in the data set are four characters long, and a only a bit mnemonic. The variable labels are a sentence derived from the question.  Importing the table from SAS to JMP  using variable laels woul...

  • How to manipulate JSL function arguments

I'm leaving this here if it helps someone. Maybe I'm inventing hot water, but I couldn't find anything similar. Problem: in general it is not possible to directly access the parts of a function "expression" directly, expression in quotes because it's not really an Expression data type but a Function, thus the usual expression manipulation functions do not work: f = Function( { x }, Return( x ) ); ...

  • Logistic Regression Diagnostics in Generalized Linear Model with Firth Bias Adjustment

I am looking for guidance on how to perform diagnostics (model fit, model form, assumptions, outliers) of logistic regression models created using the fit model generalized linear model personality. The generalized linear model personality must be used in this case because the data has small sample sizes and complete separation. The only diagnostic plots available in the generalized linear model p...

  • Mass Production of JSL Code Generation via JMP Python Integration Using NVIDIA's Free API (DeepSeek V4 Pro)

    Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a highly efficient workflow I've developed that bridges JMP's data manipulation capabilities with the power of NVIDIA's latest AI models running on their free API platform (NIM).
The core idea is to automate the generation of executable Python/JSL scripts directly within JMP, effectively creating a "content factory" for data analysis tasks.
    The Technical Workflow:
    Dat...

  • PLS2 NIPALS Root Mean Square PRESS

    1.  How to get PRESS values in JMP when using PLS2 NIPALS and Leave out One data ? 2.  When finding RMS PRESS using hand written code I get matching answers for toy problems using (n-1)*k as averaging factor where n is no. of observations and y is number of responses.   3.  But in large problems like Baltic or Gasoline the RMS PRESS was not matching with handwritten code.   But coefficients of the...
