「CochranのQ検定」でみる製品評価の一致性

このブログでは複数の製品の特徴を評価する例を扱い、製品間の評価の一致性を調べる方法として「CochrannのQ検定」を、製品と評価の関連性を調べる方法として「対応分析」を用いる方法を紹介します。

 

「CochranのQ検定」はあまり知られていない検定方法かもしれませんが、今回の例のように複数製品を評価する検定手法として有用ですので、今回の例を参照し実務に使える場面があれば是非とも使ってみてください。

 

複数の缶コーヒーの特徴比較

例:7種類の缶コーヒーについて甘さ、ロースト感、ビター感などを評価

7つの缶コーヒー(A,B,C,D,E,F,G)について、12名のパネリスト(評価者)が、コーヒーに対する以下の5つの特徴

 

Aroma: 香り

Acidity: 酸味

Sweetness: 甘味

Bitterness: ビター感

Roastness: ロースト感

 

を評価します。

 

各パネリストは、各缶コーヒーについて、上記の特徴を強く感じたものをチェックします。

 

この例のように、評価者が製品の特徴(評価項目)について該当するものをチェックし、チェックした数をカウントしてその製品の持つ特徴を調べる方法はCATA(Check All That Apply)法と呼ばれ、主にマーケティング調査などで用いられます。

 

以下のシェアチャートが評価した結果を集計したものです。値"1"はチェックした、値"0"はチェックしなかったことを示します。要は各コーヒー、各特徴(Item)について、1の割合が多いほどその特徴を強く感じたパネリストが多いことを示します。

このとき、ある特徴について製品間でチェックした割合に差があるかどうかを調べるためにCochranのQ検定を用います。

 

CochranのQ検定は対応のある3変数以上の2値変数(2つの値をとるカテゴリカルデータ)について、変数間の割合に差があるかどうかを調べる方法です。

 

この例では7つの缶コーヒーを評価しているので3変数以上あり、パネリストが複数の缶コーヒーを評価しているので対応があるデータです。さらに評価は"1"または"0"の2つの値のみ取り得るので2値データであり、CochranのQ検定を利用する要件を満たしています。

 

多重対応分析とCochranのQ検定

JMPでは「多重対応分析」のオプションとしてCochranのQ検定を実行できます。今回の缶コーヒー評価の例について、CochranのQ検定を行ってみましょう。

 

前節のシェアチャートは、以下のデータテーブルから作成したものです。

Item: 特徴(5つの評価項目)

Panelist: 評価者(P1~P12 の12名)

Coffee A ~ Coffee G: 7種類の缶コーヒー。各特徴についてチェックした場合は"1"、チェックしなかった場合は"0" が入力されている。

[分析] > [多変量] > [多重対応分析] を選択し、左下図のように列を割り当て、表示される分析レポート左上にある赤い三角ボタンから [対応分析] > [CochranのQ検定] を選択します。

5つの評価項目のうち、ここではBinnerness, Aromaの2つのレポートを示します。「対応分析」のレポートとともに「CochranのQ検定」のレポートが表示されています。

検定の有意水準を0.05とすると、図左上の Bitternessについてはp値が0.0134なので有意差あり、図右上のAromaについてはp値が0.3946なので有意差はありません。

 

これより、7種類の缶コーヒーに対してビター感については感じた割合に差があるといえますが、香りについては差があるとは言えません。

 

この解釈は対応分析の図からも直感的に知ることができます。

 

対応分析では各コーヒーについて"0"と"1"の点がプロットされていますが、Bitternessは0と1が近くに位置しておらず2次元上に混在しています。これは、製品間で評価に類似性がない状態です。一方、Aromaについてはおおむね "0"が左側、"1"が右側にある程度まとまって位置しているので評価に類似性がある状態といえます。評価に類似性があるということは、製品間の差が見いだせないことを示しています。

 

実際は、5つの特徴(評価項目)についてCochranのQ検定を行っているので、右クリックメニューから [連結してデータテーブルの作成] を選択し、一つのテーブルにまとめたものを示します。

香り以外の項目は有意差がある、つまり甘味、ロースト感、ビター感、酸味については製品間で評価が異なるといえます。

 

分割表をベースにした対応分析で製品のポジショニング

前述したデータをItem, Coffeeについて度数集計し、集計したデータについて対応分析を実施してみます。CoffeeとItemの二元分析表に基づいて対応分析を行い、製品と評価項目との関連性を調べることが目的です。

対応分析のレポートを示します。次元1(横軸)では66%、次元2(縦軸)では22.5%の変動を説明できているので、2つの次元でデータの変動の88.5%も説明できています。2次元のプロットで製品と評価項目との関係を十分に示していると言えるでしょう。

対応分析のレポートを参照すると、B,C,D はBitternessやRoastnessが、FはAcidityが、AはSweetnessに特徴がある缶コーヒーであることなどが見てとれます。

 

このように対応分析のレポートでは、カテゴリ間の関連性を2次元にマッピングして示すことができます。例えば自社製品と他社製品との特徴の違い、製品のポジショニングをわかりやすく説明するといった用途で便利な手法です。
