Expand SPEC Limits Options

What inspired this wish list request?

I use more than 2 spec limits per process parameter.

What is the improvement you would like to see?

Please allow more than one limit per side in spec limits, also option to customize the limit name/label will be much appreciated.

Why is this idea important?

I would like to see the following options when inserting spec limits:
LSL2: xxx     Label(optional): xxx

LSL1: xxx     Label(optional): xxx

Target: xxx     Label(optional): xxx

USL1: xxx     Label(optional): xxx

USL2: xxx     Label(optional): xxx

I like this idea.  We often would like to plot multiple columns with both the old and updated limits displayed for comparison.  A workaround I've been using is to use the Spec Limit property for the original limits, and repurpose the Response Limit property for the new limits.  Both get displayed in graph builder plots, with the Spec Limits colored blue, and the Response Limits colored green.  This is ok, unless someone needs to use the Response Limits property for its intended purpose instead.

This would be incredibly useful, and I'm a little surprised JMP doesn't already support this. To add some context on our use case - we use JMP for our manufacturing process monitoring. Each step may have as many as 3 sets of limits - one set that was approved by our regulatory body as a CPP, an action limit, and an alert limit (or PARs and NORs, or any other name for these types of limits). I would like to be able to see all 3 of these in charts, especially control charts. I am currently working on trying to add this via a complex script based on this community post, but it is very complex for something that I imagine most manufacturing processes use. I would think most of the background work that was used for spec limits could be reused for a custom limit like below:

JMP already allows custom properties, they just can only be free text. Allowing a custom property to be a set of limits would be a huge help.

For our organization, we do a review of this data annually, and currently have to have JMP up side by side with our spreadsheet of limits and compare where our actual values are relative to these other limits, which is time consuming and error prone. Being able to have these limits all in JMP would make this process much smoother. For example, in the chart below, the process is generally in control, and within the spec limits, but is consistently outside of the normal operating range, and should be flagged to operators, but without manually adding these limits as lines, we would never know, and with a process with hundreds of steps, adding these as lines each time is tedious, having a parameter where we can have these live as well as turn them off for chart views as needed would be a huge help.
