DoE factors - copy and paste function for loading

What inspired this wish list request? 

 

DoE's with a large number of factors are laborious to load up in JMP right now since you have to type them out one by one - there is no easy (non-scripting) way to load them (the factors and their ranges) in otherwise

 

What is the improvement you would like to see? 

 

I would like to see functionality to be able to paste a list or table of factors and their min/max values into JMP. 

 

Why is this idea important? 

 

JMP has powerful model-fitting functionality but not having this functionality makes me more likely to choose alternative software which makes it easier and faster for the user to use.

This stream may be out of date by now, solved, or moved to another conversation.

In case it is still an active issue, here is an easy solution to consider.

I found that the reason why imported factor tables do not load is because necessary Column  Properties are missing from the factor columns. These can be easily added by selecting all the new factor columns and adding them with the Column Properties feature

I considered making a new Wish List Item, but instead I will comment add what I think would be some good improvements:

Allow loading factor from a "tall" table, that is, a table that lists the factors in one column, the target setting in another column, the low in another column, ...
And then allow saving a factor table in that format.    Like this:

This is the typical way we communicate our experimental ranges and targets.
