3D Graph Builder

What inspired this wish list request? 

Scatter Plot has limited functionality for 3D graphing. Graph Builder is only two-dimensional graphing which limits some potential use applications. 

 

What is the improvement you would like to see? 

Graph builder but in with a 3rd dimension (Z) as an option. Similar functionality to graph builder like drag-n-drop, overlay, coloring, grouping on axis (X, Y, Z) with functionality from scatter plots like Mesh, points, surfaces.

Why is this idea important? 

When looking at a 2D surface with measured values in the 3rd axis is useful and can be done with scatter plot, though this does not have a lot of the functionality built into graph builder. Ideally want to color a surface plot by a 4th metric, such as change in the 3rd axis value or a 4th metric. Allows for graphical representation of two factors over a 2d surface in single graph. 
Could also show the difference between two 3D surface plots with one being the reference and the coloring being the difference between the two surface plots.
