allocate rows for specific test samples in a validation column

When using linear discrimination I want to determine groups for unknowns. I assume I can do this by making the unknowns a validation or test set but this seems to be allocated randomly. How do I specify specific rows as a validation/test set?

Hi @rcmjh,

You can create a validation column manually and use Value Labels (see screenshot below) in the Column Info to let JMP know which rows are your validation (or even test) sets.
