What is not possible via JSL?

https://community.jmp.com/t5/Discussions/Is-it-possible-to-show-excluded-row-values-on-chart-via-JSL...

Where are the limits?

I mean:

- where is the the GUI/mouse user ahead of his JSL colleague?
- where is a hard wall for any Jmp user?

Re: What is not possible via JSL?

Our JSL cannot change the GUI.

That is the limit that I've seen.

Re: What is not possible via JSL?

could you give an example?

By talking to the report layer, you can change and rearrange the DisplayBoxes:

https://community.jmp.com/t5/Discussions/Re-arranging-menus-in-distribution-platform/m-p/688989#M874...

You can even change the standard platforms.
Here is an example which replaces the OK button in  Tables/Update with  high-speed (HS) version:

Re: What is not possible via JSL?

#1) how to reference a Transform Column? *)
It doesn't seem to be possible to get a reference to a Transfrom column which is generated in platform context.
Therefore, it's not possible to rename the column or (more important) change the Formula via JSL

Via the GUI: full access

*) transform column, which is created with platform scope.

Re: What is not possible via JSL?

Thanks for sharing.

But, is it possible for JSL to modify this GUI to allow the UCL appear automatically like USL (i want both to appear) in Distribution platform? If yes, I want to learn.

https://community.jmp.com/t5/Discussions/How-to-make-UCL-appear-in-Histogram/m-p/690621#M87654

Example, whenever other user open JMP software, they can repeat the same steps through GUI that has been set by their super users.

(i.e they just need to key-in the USL & UCL in the column, then run Distribution, both USL & UCL appear automatically).

Re: What is not possible via JSL?

Some new setting in the preferences could tell the GUI  to allow the UCL appear automatically like USL.
Definitely worth to post it to the wish list

On the other hand:

With JSL you have the possibility to do it in another sense of automatically,

1) either by adding a function to a toolbar such that a user can automatically add the control limits by clicking on the toolbar icon or by pressing a keyboard shortcut.

2) or by adding a new button (e.g. "OK+") to the Launcher GUI of the Distribution - which can trigger a "click" on the original OK button and then run a small script to "automatically" add the control limits. Then it's really close to automatic. *)

*) example can be found here:

Re: What is not possible via JSL?

I would rather kudos that than make LCL visible in all plots and guide into using it in wrong way.

I'm fairly sure I have seen wish list item in community requesting that we could have multiple limits (I tried to find it but couldn't quickly). In best case I think we should be able to choose the value we see, name which we see, line colors and line styles (fairly easy to build addin for this)

Edit:

I think this is the one I did rememberSecondary Working Limits Set . A bit different than I did remember, so maybe new wish list item is a good idea. I still think it would be better if we could have some "Show Lines" type of column property than showing control limits in distribution plots.

Thanks for the link.

After 2 years and with 2 Kudos already, the wish should be close to implementation
