How do I Shorten the Fit line?

Hello,

When I fit my data using the fit line tool it send the line till the end of the graph. I was wondering if there was any way to define how long the trend line should be, such that it only spans the region I want to show.

Is there also a way to get the fit line to appear within the legend?

Thanks!

Re: How do I Shorten the Fit line?

Hi,
Have you considered using Graph Builder to plot the line of fit: this platform limits the span on the line of fit to the data range. If however you need to work within the Fit Y by X platform, I'm not aware of a simple method to constrain the span of the line of fit.

Re: How do I Shorten the Fit line?

Hi,

So I did consider it, however i have the data grouped together by their type, so I couldn't find a way to present all the lines using the graph builder as it would display them separately instead of grouping the data by a certain property.

If your property is in a column, drag that result to the Overlay field in Graph Builder.

Here is a simple example using Big Class that shows that you can indeed have multiple regression lines on a single graph using Graph Builder
