How can I prevent JMP to open a new Home window

Currently I use JMP version 17.0.0 on Windows 10.

My problem is when I have Home Window opened and click JMP/JSL file to open, My JMP will open a new Home Window that I not want to be like this.

I have used JMP 16 before and never seen this problem before.

How can I prevent JMP to open a new Home window after open from JMP file when have current Home window opening.

Assuming you are running on a PC, the first thing you should try is to reset the file associations.  

Go to

      File=>Preferences=>Window Specific

Towards the bottom the displayed window, click on the button

     Reset Associations

Hi Jim,

I am running on my laptop. And I tried to Reset Associations but it doesn't work.

Its still open a new HOME windows when I double click at JMP file.

If I drag and drop JMP file into JMP, It's OK to me because JMP not open a new HOME windows.

Any other things I can do ?

Hi Jim,

It seems like the old discussion methods wont work anymore. It seems happened right after the new version of JMP 17 update. I am wondering whether there are any new or general solution we can try.

If the previously described methods are not fixing he issue, then I suggest that you contact JMP Support.
