Analysis of comment field

Hi all,

I have been provided with a report tracker, in which users in my organisation have provided different types of comments. Unfortunately, this all appears in one column per report (row). For most comments, it comes with a date (in a variety of different formats). I´m trying to get a reasonable overview of what happened when (e.g. create a new column per date), but cannot really find a good approach to this.  I was thinking in the line of having jmp create a new column each time it comes across a date format of any type within a cell by using the "Text to Columns" feature but I can only make it work using NEWLINE.

Any ideas? Or will this get too complicated?

Re: Analysis of comment field

Are there any limitations in place regarding date format?

I would create just one date column but this will require you to be able to distinguish between the possible date formats. And if you miss some, data update your comment parser to be able to handle those.

Re: Analysis of comment field

After realizing you have multiple rows in each comment, are you interested in which date? Always the date before ":" for each line in the comment?
